DAAD scholarship for performing-arts graduates applying from Madagascar for a master's/postgraduate degree or eligible complementary study in Germany. The 2027/28 application deadline is 15 October 2026.
Complete scholarship details
The programme funds eligible artistic study in areas such as drama, theatre directing/dramaturgy, musicals, performance studies, dance and choreography. Master's/postgraduate funding normally lasts 10–24 months; eligible complementary study is usually one academic year. Current support includes EUR 992 per month, a travel allowance upon application, a one-off study allowance, insurance support and possible rent, family, disability, green-mobility and language support. DAAD does not cover tuition fees.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants need a first university degree in Performing Arts by the start of the funded programme. As a rule, the degree should not be older than six years at the deadline, funding requires full-time attendance study, and applicants who have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the deadline are not eligible. Applicants must meet host-programme language and admission requirements and submit required work samples through the DAAD media database.
