A DAAD scholarship for Costa Rican applicants continuing postgraduate or advanced study in performing arts at a state or state-recognized German university, with funding normally beginning in October 2027.
Complete scholarship details
Eligible study can be a master's/postgraduate degree course or qualifying complementary study in performing arts such as drama, theatre directing or dramaturgy, musicals, performance studies, dance and choreography. DAAD provides EUR 992 per month, a travel allowance, a one-off study allowance and payments toward health, accident and personal liability insurance. DAAD does not cover tuition fees and a scholarship award does not itself guarantee university admission.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must have a first university degree in performing arts, normally no more than six years old at the application deadline, must pursue full-time attendance study, and cannot have been resident in Germany for more than 15 months at the deadline. They must meet the chosen university's language requirements and complete the DAAD application plus subsequent artistic portfolio submission.
