Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Integration Engineer based in United States. As a founding Data Integration Engineer, you will build scalable and repeatable solutions for exchanging healthcare data with large health systems. You will own data ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows across EMR/EHR and patient eligibility systems. The role combines healthcare data standards, ETL architecture, API development, and data quality engineering. You will work closely with client-facing and operational teams to establish reliable data feeds and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Your work will directly support the delivery of accurate, accessible data across internal and external systems. This is an opportunity to take significant technical ownership in a fast-growing HealthTech environment while helping improve healthcare and patient outcomes.

Map, extract, transform, and load healthcare data from source systems to target systems across multiple processing stages. Own and maintain ETL pipelines supporting HL7 FHIR, HL7 2.x, CDA, XML, JSON, RESTful APIs, flat files, SFTP, and other healthcare data exchange modalities. Partner with client-facing teams and healthcare clients to communicate data requirements, standardize file templates, and establish and maintain required data source feeds. Provide technical support for integrating EMR/EHR and patient eligibility data with internal systems and operational workflows. Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable data models and integration solutions. Design and build new APIs and functionality to support data ingestion and data exchange with external systems. Establish data quality checks, validations, metrics, and monitoring practices to improve the reliability and consistency of integrated healthcare data. Requirements: Bring 5+ years of experience building healthcare data integrations and hands-on experience integrating with at least two EHR systems, such as Epic, Allscripts, Athena, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Cerner, Greenway, or Meditech. Have strong experience with healthcare data workflows and standards, including HL7 FHIR, HL7 CDA, HL7 2.x, EDI X12, LOINC, ICD-10, SNOMED, and CPT. Demonstrate practical knowledge of data quality processes, including checks, validations, metrics definition, and measurement. Have a strong understanding of data warehouse architectures, ETL concepts, and scalable data integration patterns. Demonstrate experience creating APIs from scratch and automating data pipelines for reliable data exchange. Be able to translate business and operational requirements into clear technical solutions and data models. Bring strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with client-facing and operational stakeholders. A passion for improving healthcare and the patient experience, experience in an early-stage startup, or enthusiasm for building foundational API and data integration capabilities is highly valued. Benefits: Opportunity to join an early-stage, high-growth HealthTech environment with established deployment across more than 80 health systems in over 25 states. Significant autonomy and ownership over data ingestion, data integration, and data-related API development. Opportunity to build foundational data and API capabilities that support scalable healthcare operations. Direct impact on real-world healthcare outcomes and experiences for millions of patients. Exposure to complex healthcare data environments, EMR/EHR integrations, and industry-standard interoperability technologies. Opportunity to contribute to the technical foundation of a rapidly growing organization.
