Recruit, develop, and lead a diverse engineering team, encouraging professional growth, collaboration, and technical excellence. Foster a human-centered engineering culture grounded in empathy, curiosity, social responsibility, and ethical technology practices. Support effective collaboration between engineering and other disciplines by making technical concepts accessible to non-technical stakeholders. Promote continuous learning, accountability, and user-focused decision-making throughout the engineering organization. Knowledge of Lean and Agile dual-track sprint teams, or methodologies with comparable goals and outcomes. Experience with computer vision technologies. Familiarity with front-end frameworks and their dependencies and interactions with backend architectures. Strong people skills, with a genuine interest in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members. Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for stakeholders outside engineering. An active interest in ethical technology theory and practice, including responsible technology policies and implementation. A leadership approach rooted in curiosity, empathy, servant leadership, social responsibility, and understanding users’ needs. Eligibility to work in the United States. Ideally based in New York City or located remotely within US time zones. Benefits: Remote work opportunity within the United States, with a preference for candidates based in New York City or US time zones. Contract-based engagement. Opportunity to build and lead an engineering team while shaping the technical foundation of a new SaaS product. Meaningful work focused on improving older adults’ access to and confidence with technology. Opportunity to explore innovative applications of AI, machine learning, augmented reality, computer vision, and data science. A collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment that values curiosity, authenticity, integrity, empathy, and continuous learning. The opportunity to influence engineering culture and contribute to responsible, human-centered technology practices.
