Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director/Senior 3D Spatial Design Lead, Experiential based in the United States. Lead the creative development of immersive physical brand experiences that bring ambitious concepts to life through innovative spatial design and technical precision. In this role, you will shape high-impact pitches and creative proposals while overseeing the design process from initial concept through fabrication and installation. You will create compelling 3D environments for large-scale exhibitions, retail pop-ups, and experiential marketing activations. Combining artistic vision with architectural expertise, you will transform creative briefs into detailed models, photorealistic renderings, and production-ready plans. Working closely with creative leadership, production teams, and fabrication partners, you will ensure each experience meets brand objectives, budget requirements, and technical standards. This opportunity is ideal for a spatial design professional who thrives on experimentation, collaboration, and delivering exceptional real-world experiences.

Collaborate with creative leadership and strategy teams to develop compelling spatial concepts and proposals for requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring alignment with client objectives, brand identity, and creative direction. Translate creative briefs into practical, fabrication-ready designs, including floor plans, elevations, architectural layouts, and detailed production documentation. Develop original design concepts through sketching, spatial planning, 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization to communicate the intended experience effectively. Create detailed 3D models and high-quality visualizations using tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema 4D, or comparable software. Design immersive attendee experiences by mapping customer journeys, optimizing spatial layouts, and evaluating activation touchpoints for both engagement and operational efficiency. Develop consumer flow diagrams and event journey plans that support effective guest movement, accessibility, and overall experience quality. Prepare decorative and graphic design packages for live events, including sourcing event elements and defining signage placement, materials, dimensions, and finishes. Collaborate with production teams, creative directors, fabricators, and external vendors to validate design feasibility, manage costs, and maintain project budgets through value engineering. Manage relationships with fabrication and print vendors, addressing technical challenges, coordinating requirements, and supporting negotiations when needed. Review material samples, finishes, graphics, and production proofs to ensure quality standards and consistency with the approved creative vision. Conduct site visits and oversee installations to verify design accuracy, resolve on-site issues, and ensure high-quality execution. Coordinate with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams to maintain alignment across creative development, production planning, fabrication, and installation. Participate in post-event evaluations, document lessons learned, and incorporate insights into future spatial design projects and creative processes. Requirements: Between 2 and 6 or more years of experience in experiential marketing, set design, environmental design, spatial design, or a related creative discipline, with the seniority to lead complex projects independently. Strong proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, or equivalent tools. Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with rendering engines such as V-Ray, Lumion, or Twinmotion to produce detailed, high-quality visualizations. A strong portfolio demonstrating immersive environments, experiential activations, exhibition spaces, retail pop-ups, or comparable spatial design projects. Solid understanding of building materials, lighting, fabrication methods, construction details, and the technical requirements of translating concepts into physical environments. Ability to interpret creative briefs and develop designs that balance visual impact, audience experience, structural and production feasibility, and budget constraints. Experience developing floor plans, elevation drawings, 3D models, renderings, guest flow diagrams, and fabrication documentation. Familiarity with AI-powered creative design tools such as Midjourney and Flora. Knowledge of motion graphics or animation is an advantage. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams, managing external creative partners, and coordinating with production and fabrication vendors. Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Excellent attention to detail, creative judgment, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively to evolving client requirements and production challenges. Benefits: Full-time employment. Remote work arrangement. Opportunity to lead creative development for immersive brand experiences, large-scale exhibitions, retail activations, and experiential marketing campaigns. Collaboration with creative leadership, production specialists, fabricators, and multidisciplinary teams. Opportunities to combine artistic creativity, 3D visualization, spatial planning, and hands-on production expertise. Exposure to innovative design technologies, AI-powered creative tools, and complex experiential projects.
