Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an E/E System Architect – Vehicle Architecture based in Germany. Take the lead in shaping next-generation vehicle electrical and electronic (E/E) architectures within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. In this role, you will translate functional, technical, and regulatory requirements into robust vehicle-level systems and detailed architectural designs. You will work across ECUs, embedded software, sensors, actuators, and vehicle communication networks to ensure seamless system integration. Collaborating with engineering teams, suppliers, and technology partners, you will help deliver consistent, reliable, and scalable vehicle architectures. You will also contribute to system validation, technical reviews, and continuous improvements throughout the development lifecycle. This opportunity combines advanced automotive engineering, systems architecture, and cross-functional collaboration to support the development of innovative vehicle technologies.
You will be responsible for defining and maintaining vehicle-level E/E architectures, ensuring that system requirements, interfaces, and communication concepts align with technical and regulatory expectations. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will support the integration, validation, and continuous improvement of complex vehicle systems. Design and develop vehicle-level E/E architectures based on functional, technical, and regulatory requirements. Translate vehicle requirements into system-, subsystem-, ECU-, and component-level specifications. Define and maintain system architectures, interfaces, signal flows, and communication concepts. Design and assess vehicle communication networks, including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostic systems. Coordinate the integration of ECUs, sensors, actuators, and software components across vehicle domains. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and technology partners to ensure architectural consistency. Participate in architecture reviews, system integration activities, testing, and technical troubleshooting. Conduct change impact assessments and evaluate the effects of modifications on vehicle-level systems. Maintain requirements traceability and ensure consistency across the complete vehicle architecture. Support engineering development processes and contribute to continuous improvements in system design and integration. Requirements: The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering background with hands-on experience in automotive E/E systems, systems architecture, and requirements engineering. You should be comfortable managing complex technical interfaces, working with multidisciplinary teams, and applying relevant automotive standards and development methodologies. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Several years of experience in E/E systems development within the automotive or off-highway industry. Strong understanding of vehicle E/E architectures, systems engineering, and requirements engineering. Familiarity with automotive communication technologies, including CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and UDS diagnostics. Experience with architecture and requirements management tools such as PREEvision, DOORS, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB/Simulink, or comparable MBSE/SysML-based solutions. Knowledge of automotive development standards and processes, including ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE; familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 is an advantage. Understanding of ECU hardware, embedded software, wiring harnesses, and vehicle electrical architectures. Experience collaborating with suppliers, development partners, and cross-functional engineering teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. Excellent English communication skills; German proficiency is an advantage. Benefits: Starting salary of €4,300 gross per month , based on a 38.5-hour working week, with higher compensation considered depending on qualifications and professional experience. Permanent employment contract. Flexible working hours and the possibility of mobile working. Career development and talent management opportunities. Corporate benefits and employee events. Opportunity to work on innovative automotive engineering projects. Collaborative, multidisciplinary working environment. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities.
