This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Engineer, Data Centers based in the United States. Design and deliver advanced electrical infrastructure for large-scale colocation and hyperscale data center facilities supporting the growing demands of digital infrastructure. In this hands-on, client-facing role, you will develop reliable, efficient, and compliant electrical systems for mission-critical environments where performance and resilience are essential. You will work across medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power, and emergency systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and global project stakeholders. Using industry-standard design tools and power system analysis software, you will translate technical requirements into practical designs that meet client specifications, project budgets, and regulatory standards. You will contribute to high-profile projects for international clients while staying current with emerging technologies and data center design practices. This opportunity offers remote work flexibility, cross-border collaboration, and potential career advancement within a dynamic, globally connected engineering environment.
Design and implement electrical systems for hyperscale and colocation data centers, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power infrastructure, and emergency electrical systems. Perform electrical engineering calculations and develop technical drawings in accordance with client specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials, installation drawings, and related engineering documentation. Ensure electrical designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable building codes, and relevant regulatory requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and project stakeholders to establish design criteria, develop technical specifications, and support project budgeting. Apply power system analysis tools to evaluate electrical system performance, reliability, and design requirements. Contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex data center projects, ensuring technical quality and alignment with project objectives. Coordinate with engineering and construction stakeholders to support design implementation, resolve technical issues, and maintain project progress. Stay informed about advancements in electrical engineering, mission-critical infrastructure, and data center technologies, incorporating relevant innovations into design solutions. Participate in client meetings, key project milestones, and on-site collaboration sessions as needed, with occasional planned business travel. Collaborate with international engineering teams to support high-profile projects and share technical knowledge across regions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. At least six years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design experience. Demonstrated experience working on colocation and hyperscale data center projects. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Proficiency with Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Experience with electrical power system analysis software, such as SKM or ETAP. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and building codes, including the International Building Code (IBC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Understanding of electrical power distribution, backup power systems, emergency systems, and the design requirements of large-scale data center facilities. Familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure standards, data center design criteria, and relevant engineering practices is preferred. Experience with data center design and construction, including technical specifications, design documentation, and applicable industry standards, is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop accurate calculations and technically sound engineering solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while coordinating effectively with distributed project teams. Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, important project milestones, and on-site collaboration. Authorization to work in the United States is required.
