Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an English to German (Switzerland) Review Lead for UI, Marketing & Product Content based in Brazil. Take ownership of linguistic quality for a major global technology client, ensuring consistent, accurate, and culturally appropriate content across digital products and customer communications. As the English-to-Swiss-German Review Lead, you will establish a shared understanding of quality standards and act as the primary linguistic point of contact for client discussions, escalations, and arbitration. You will work across UI, marketing, product, informational, legal, and support content, translating client expectations into practical guidance for reviewers and editors. Through coaching, quality analysis, and structured reporting, you will strengthen localization performance and drive continuous improvement. This fully remote freelance opportunity offers approximately 24 hours of work per month, with collaboration across international language teams. You will play a key role in maintaining quality governance and building a long-term partnership around high-visibility technology products.

Analyze style guides, glossaries, and client quality updates to identify changes, assess their impact across content types, and document revised expectations. Monitor client feedback, corrections, calibration discussions, and quality meetings to identify implicit expectations and ensure the language team follows the same standards. Serve as the primary linguistic contact for the client's Language Manager, managing quality discussions, clarifications, escalations, and formal arbitration processes. Organize regular alignment roundtables with the language community to improve consistency and reinforce shared quality standards. Prepare structured monthly quality reports covering performance, key improvement priorities, style guide updates, recurring errors, and arbitration outcomes. Coach reviewers individually using concrete examples, facilitate shadowing sessions, and deliver targeted training based on actual quality and alignment data. Analyze error patterns, severity trends, quality scores, and recurring reviewer justifications to identify root causes and opportunities for improvement. Develop evidence-based proposals for style guide updates and share relevant cross-locale quality insights with quality management teams. Maintain the integrity of arbitration records, ensuring that every issue escalated to the client is valid, clearly documented, and supported by evidence. Take ownership of the locale's review service performance, including RQE audit results and alignment metrics. Build and maintain a productive working relationship with the client's Language Manager, ensuring expectations are tracked and potential disagreements are addressed constructively. Promote continuous improvement across localization quality assurance, review processes, and linguistic governance. Requirements: Three to five or more years of experience in Localization Quality Assurance (LQA), senior language leadership, quality governance, or a closely related field. Native-level proficiency in German as used in Switzerland and professional-level English. Direct experience serving as the primary point of contact for client Language Managers or equivalent stakeholders. Proven ability to manage formal linguistic arbitration, quality escalations, stakeholder disagreements, and conflict resolution. Strong practical knowledge of localization quality evaluation frameworks, including RQE, LQE, error classification rubrics, and severity mapping. Experience analyzing style guide and glossary changes, identifying implicit client expectations, and adapting quality standards to different content types, such as marketing, legal, and user interface content. Hands-on experience facilitating one-to-one coaching, reviewer shadowing, alignment roundtables, calibration meetings, and structured quality reporting. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to track recurring errors, identify severity drift, interpret alignment scores, and turn findings into actionable quality improvements. Excellent written communication, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to exercise sound linguistic judgment, support decisions with evidence, and communicate quality expectations clearly across distributed teams. Preferred: Experience supporting large-scale technology localization programs. Preferred: Familiarity with calibration, review alignment, and linguistic quality management tools. Willingness to complete a background check as part of onboarding. Physical residence in one of the approved countries is required. India is included among the approved locations. Additional Position Details: Employment type: Freelance / independent contractor. Expected workload: Approximately 24 hours per month. Work arrangement: Fully remote. Content areas: UI, marketing, informational, legal, product, and support. Language direction: English into German (Switzerland). A dedicated device will be provided for project work. Candidates must be physically located in an approved country at the time of engagement. Benefits: Fully remote working arrangement. Flexible freelance engagement with an expected workload of approximately 24 hours per month. Opportunity to establish a long-term working relationship with global teams. Steady project volume and involvement in high-visibility technology products. Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training. Access to established linguistic resources, quality frameworks, and localization tools. Opportunities to influence quality standards, improve localization processes, and collaborate with international language professionals. No specific hourly rate or total compensation range is stated in the job description.
