Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an English to Slovak Review Lead for UI, Marketing & Product Content based in Canada. This freelance opportunity is ideal for an experienced localization quality professional who can take ownership of linguistic standards for a leading global technology client. You will ensure consistent, high-quality Slovak content across user interfaces, marketing materials, product information, legal documentation, and support content. Acting as the primary linguistic point of contact, you will collaborate closely with client stakeholders and guide reviewers toward shared quality expectations. Through coaching, quality audits, structured reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, you will strengthen linguistic accuracy and consistency across the locale. This remote engagement offers approximately 24 hours of work per month, with opportunities to build a long-term partnership with international teams. Candidates must be based in an approved country and have native-level Slovak proficiency.

Analyze style guides, glossaries, and client requirement updates to identify their impact on content types, quality categories, and review expectations. Track client feedback, corrections, calibration discussions, and quality decisions to maintain an accurate understanding of evolving linguistic standards. Organize regular alignment roundtables with the language community and publish monthly quality reports covering performance, improvement priorities, style guide updates, recurring errors, and arbitration outcomes. Coach reviewers individually using concrete examples, conduct shadowing sessions, and deliver targeted training based on real quality and alignment data. Identify recurring linguistic issues and justification patterns, develop evidence-based proposals for style guide improvements, and share cross-locale insights with quality management. Maintain close alignment with the client’s Language Manager, ensuring that client decisions guide review practices while raising concerns through appropriate channels with supporting evidence. Take ownership of the locale’s review service score, including RQE audit results and alignment performance. Maintain a consistent community-wide understanding of quality standards and ensure that arbitration records submitted to the client are accurate, valid, and well-supported. Manage client communications related to linguistic clarifications, quality escalations, arbitration, and changing expectations. Requirements: At least 3–5 years of experience in Localization Quality Assurance (LQA), senior language leadership, quality governance, or a comparable role. Proven experience managing client and stakeholder relationships, particularly as the primary contact for client Language Managers. Practical experience handling formal arbitration, quality escalations, and conflict resolution in localization projects. Strong knowledge of localization quality evaluation frameworks, including RQE, LQE, error classification rubrics, and severity mapping. Ability to interpret style guide changes, identify implicit client expectations, and adapt quality standards to different content types, including marketing, legal, and UI content. Hands-on experience facilitating reviewer coaching, shadowing sessions, alignment meetings, and structured monthly quality reporting. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to monitor error patterns, severity trends, and alignment scores and translate findings into actionable quality improvements. Native-level Slovak proficiency and professional-level English communication skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with the confidence to manage quality discussions and justify linguistic decisions using evidence. Preferred: Experience supporting major technology localization programs and working with calibration or alignment tools. Willingness to complete a background check as part of onboarding. Ability to work remotely from one of the approved countries. India is an eligible location, but candidates must be physically based in an approved country. Benefits: Remote flexibility: Work remotely from an approved country. Freelance engagement: Independent contractor arrangement with an expected workload of approximately 24 hours per month. Long-term collaboration: Opportunity to build an ongoing professional partnership with international teams supporting high-visibility technology products. Dedicated work device: A dedicated device will be provided for project-related activities. Structured onboarding and training: Access comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, and established linguistic resources. International exposure: Collaborate with global teams and contribute to localization quality across multiple content categories. Compensation: Salary or hourly rate is not specified in the available job description.
