The University of Tartu Foundation's Estonian Diaspora visiting-professor scholarship supports renowned researchers and lecturers of Estonian origin who work outside Estonia and will contribute to University of Tartu teaching, research, public lectures and field outreach. Funding is €50,000 for one academic year from September to June or €25,000 for one semester. Applications are open from 11 August through 1 October 2026 inclusive. The award is intended for the 2027/2028 academic year.
Eligibility requirements
A researcher of Estonian origin working at a university or research institution outside Estonia may apply. The candidate must plan University of Tartu teaching and research activity and provide confirmation from the dean of the relevant university unit that it is willing to employ the applicant.
