Overview
ETH Zurich's ESOP supports outstanding applicants to regular Master's programmes with a full scholarship, mentoring and access to the ETH Foundation network for study beginning in autumn 2027.
Complete scholarship details
For 2027/28, ETH Zurich states that ESOP covers study and living costs with CHF 13,500 per semester from autumn semester 2027 plus a tuition-fee waiver, for the regular three- or four-semester Master's duration. Approximately 60 ESOP awards are planned, subject to available funds.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants need a very strong Bachelor's result, approximately the top 10% (grade A), and must apply for an eligible regular ETH Master's programme in the first application window. Applicants already enrolled in an ETH Master's programme or who already hold a Master's degree are not eligible.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified against the current ETH ESOP page and ETH eApply portal on 27 Aug 2026. The ESOP page says 1–30 Nov 2026 and the eApply portal states Master's applications close 30 Nov 2026 at 12:00 CET (noon); the UTC deadline reflects that portal timestamp.
