Full job description
ABOUT CUSPAI CuspAI is the frontier AI company on a mission to solve the breakthrough materials needed to power human progress. While nature took billions of years to perfect molecules, we are harnessing AI to unlock trillion-dollar materials breakthroughs in months, not millennia. Our founding team is the most cited in the world, comprised of world-class researchers in AI, chemistry and engineering. We are working on some of the hardest and most important challenges including energy, clean water, the future of compute, and carbon capture, and this is just the start of what our 'search engine' for next-generation materials will unlock. We invite you to be part of a diverse, innovative team at the intersection of AI and materials science, working to create impactful partnerships that drive innovation, scalability, and industry collaboration. This work matters. Your work matters. We’re on the cusp of the on-demand materials era. Join us. THE ROLE Due to growth, we are seeking an experienced Events Lead to take complete ownership of our events programme and build CuspAI's events function from the ground up. YOUR IMPACT In this role you will be building the global events engine that accelerates CuspAI and the AI Materials Foundry, which is critical for driving real-world impact of our work across international markets. Your main focus initially will be executing our flagship in-person Foundry event and subsequent international roadshows across Asia and Europe. Over time you will build out a repeatable event model, assemble an agile agency and vendor network, and establish CuspAI’s experiential presence across global scientific and machine learning conferences. As the team scales, the function will also own internal events. WHAT YOU WILL DO Foundry Events & Global Roadshows
- Own our flagship in-person Foundry event end to end, establishing the core gathering for our global partner network.
- With our Partnerships team, design, plan, and deliver a regional roadshow of Foundry events across Asia, Europe and North America, creating a repeatable execution model for international expansion.
- Establish and manage a regular cadence of virtual events to keep the global Foundry ecosystem engaged between physical moments. Customer & Partner Experiences
- With Comms/Marketing and Partnerships, conceptualise and execute high-touch events for industrial partners and enterprise customers (e.g. executive dinners, interactive virtual showcases, and partner roundtables).
- Align event formats with commercial and ecosystem goals to deepen partner trust and engagement. Conferences, Sponsorships & Internal Events
- Own CuspAI's strategic presence at major industry and machine learning conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and materials science summits).
- Evaluate sponsorship packages, oversee booth design and recruitment stands, manage on-site logistics, and report on return on investment.
- Partner with internal operations teams to help deliver internal company moments (e.g. CuspCon, company offsites, and all-hands). Event Operations & Physical Brand Experience
- Source, negotiate with, and direct external production agencies, AV suppliers, local vendors, and freelance event staff.
- Partner closely with Communications, Product Marketing, and Creative teams to bring CuspAI's visual brand identity into physical spaces.
- Own event budgets, timelines, and post-event analytics, providing clear reporting to leadership on performance and cost efficiency. MUST HAVE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- You are someone who gets excited about enabling world-class scientists and industry partners to collaborate on global sustainability and materials challenges.
- 5+ years of experience in event management, experiential marketing, or event operations within a high-growth tech, deep-tech, or B2B environment.
- Track record of delivering high-touch physical and virtual events internationally across EMEA and APAC regions.
- Strong vendor management experience, with a history of sourcing, negotiating with, and directing production agencies, AV teams, and freelance staff.
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning (e.g. budget management, roadmap design, ROI measurement) with hands-on, on-site event execution.
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder skills, with experience collaborating directly with executive leadership, sales, partnerships, and creative teams.
- Flexibility to undertake regular UK and international travel for events, conferences, and site visits. BONUS POINTS (BUT NOT CRITICAL):
- Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment building an event function or operational processes from scratch.
- Direct experience engaging scientific, research-led, or highly technical audiences.
- Familiarity with event management software, virtual event tools, and CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, event platforms).
- An eye for spatial design, environmental branding, or experiential production. ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS This role could be based in our Cambridge, London, Amsterdam or Berlin offices, with the expectation of being in the office three days per week. Additionally, there may be regular travel required to other locations for collaboration and project work. WHAT WE OFFER
