Role OverviewAre you passionate about security, compliance, and supporting mission-critical work? We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Facilities Security Officer (FSO) to lead and maintain our government security clearance programs! In this role, you will serve as the primary administrator of the company's Facility Clearance (FCL) and personnel security clearance program, helping ensure our continued ability to perform classified work for Government customers. You will also play a critical role in managing compliance with Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) requirements, supporting facility clearance eligibility, government reporting obligations, and mitigation activities. You'll partner with employees, leadership, government representatives, and cross-functional teams to maintain compliance, support cleared personnel and strengthen our overall security posture. NOTE: Due to minor traveling required to the Facility location, Candidates must reside in OR around the greater Chantilly, Virginia area.

Manage Facility Security & FOCI Compliance

Serve as the primary point of contact for facility clearance administration and government security matters.

Maintain the organization's Facility Clearance (FCL) and support all required compliance activities, reporting, and documentation.

Coordinate government inspections, audits, self-assessments, and security reviews.

Monitor organizational changes involving ownership, governance, key management personnel, investments, acquisitions, and foreign business relationships that could impact facility clearance eligibility.

Support the administration of Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) compliance requirements, mitigation agreements, reporting obligations, and related government filings.

Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, and Corporate Development teams to evaluate potential FOCI implications arising from corporate transactions, ownership changes, and strategic partnerships.

Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and records that support classified operations and regulatory compliance.

Administer Personnel Security Clearances

Manage the full lifecycle of employee security clearances, including initial applications, renewals, upgrades, periodic reviews, transfers, and terminations.

Guide employees through security clearance requirements and application processes.

Maintain accurate security records and monitor clearance status and eligibility.

Coordinate onboarding, security briefings, debriefings, and ongoing compliance requirements for cleared personnel.

Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers on personnel security matters.

Drive Security Program Compliance

Conduct internal audits to ensure continued compliance with security requirements.

Track corrective actions and support remediation of identified findings.

Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence.

Support reporting of security incidents, violations, and compliance concerns as required.

Develop compliance metrics and security program reporting for leadership.

Promote Security Awareness

Deliver security orientation and annual refresher training programs.

Develop educational materials and communications that promote a strong culture of security.

Stay informed on regulatory updates and industry best practices and translate them into actionable guidance for the organization.

Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience administering U.S. Government facility security clearance and government personnel security clearance programs.

Strong understanding of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and facility clearance requirements.

Experience supporting security compliance programs, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.

Knowledge of Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) regulations and their impact on cleared contractors.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive information.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Travel: 5%.

Previous experience serving as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) within a cleared contractor environment.

Direct experience administering or supporting FOCI mitigation arrangements.

Active or previously held U.S. Government security clearance.

Experience supporting organizations performing classified work for the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies.

Familiarity with facility clearance management and personnel clearance processing systems.
