FAO Afghanistan is recruiting a Compliance Specialist for an initial 11-month consultancy in Kabul to strengthen internal controls, enterprise-risk processes, due diligence, audit follow-up, complaints and feedback mechanisms, and compliance with donor and FAO requirements.

Full job description

The specialist will advise FAO Afghanistan on risk controls and operational compliance, coordinate corporate tools such as risk logs and fraud-prevention planning, support fiduciary and PSEA requirements, oversee the centralized call-centre compliance function, support audit action plans, lead implementing-partner due diligence and build local compliance capacity. The assignment is initially 11 months with possible extension subject to programme need, funding and performance.

Requirements & qualifications

FAO lists an advanced university degree in business/public administration, economics or another discipline relevant to the organization's work; consultants with a bachelor's degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience. At least five years of relevant public- or private-sector experience in programming, planning and technical cooperation, including evaluation, audit, compliance and control functions, particularly in disaster- or emergency-vulnerable settings, is required. Working knowledge of English is required.
