Remote Finance And Administrative Assistant Job 2026 – Full Time Consultancy

Job Title: Fixed Term Finance and Administrative Assistant Job Location: Remote Closing Date: 22 October 2026 at 17:00 GMT Work Format: Remote, Full-time Consultancy Contract Duration: 1 Year (Fixed Term) Reports To: Head of Finance and Operations

The institution mobilises investment capital to support innovative and scalable agricultural solutions, working with investment funds, development finance institutions and other partners.

The successful candidate will provide finance and administrative support to the Head of Finance and Operations, ensuring efficient management of payments, procurement, travel, records, meetings and financial reporting.

Finance And Accounting Support

  • Prepare payment requests, invoices and supporting documentation.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and transaction listings.

  • Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliations.

  • Process consultant timesheets, invoices and fee notes.

  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing.

Budgeting And Reporting

  • Support preparation of annual operating budgets.

  • Monitor expenditure against approved budgets.

  • Prepare budget variance schedules and cash-flow forecasts.

  • Assist with donor and funder financial reporting.

Procurement And Administration

  • Support procurement processes and maintain supplier and contract registers.

  • Track contract renewals and expiry dates.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodation and related logistics.

  • Organise meetings and maintain administrative records.

Governance And Compliance

  • Provide secretariat support to the Investment Committee, including agendas, minutes and decision registers.

  • Maintain compliance and reporting calendars.

  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits.

  • Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.

Recruitment And Office Support

  • Assist with recruitment administration and interview coordination.

  • Support staff and consultant onboarding.

  • Maintain confidential personnel records.

  • Manage electronic filing systems, subscriptions and equipment registers.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline.

  • At least 4 years of experience in finance, accounting or administration.

  • Experience processing payments, invoices, reconciliations and financial records.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Professional working proficiency in French.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ACCA, CIMA, CPA, AAT or equivalent.

  • Experience in financial services, investment funds, development finance institutions or fund administration.

  • Experience providing board or committee secretariat support.

  • Knowledge of procurement, travel administration and donor-funded reporting.

  • Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar accounting software.

  • Experience working remotely with external service providers.

A shortlist of three to six candidates will be established, with shortlisted applicants invited to an interview and practical test.

Final selection will be based on:

  • Shortlisting assessment: 40%

  • Interview and practical test: 60%
