ABOUT THE ROLE As Founding Engineer at an early-stage freight technology company, you will work across product and engineering to build AI-powered tools for freight operations. You will combine customer discovery with hands-on development, helping evolve early demos into reliable production products and shaping the technical direction as the company grows. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead conversations with customers and translate their needs into product features and technical plans.
- Design, build, and deploy full-stack applications, while advancing the product's AI capabilities.
- Move prototypes and demos toward scalable, high-quality production systems.
- Make practical architecture decisions and help shape the product and engineering direction. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
- Full-stack experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React, plus backend development in Python.
- Hands-on experience with LLM design patterns, vector stores, and model fine-tuning.
- Experience taking products from MVP to production, including customer conversations and product feedback.
- Startup or early-stage experience, with sound judgment about architecture and scaling trade-offs.
- Experience with vector databases or semantic search is relevant. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION Hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates should be willing to work from Berlin or relocate.
