ABOUT THE ROLE Join an early engineering team building AI software for industrial ingredient manufacturers. You will work closely with the founders across product and engineering, creating tools that help customers process complex documents and compliance workflows. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build backend systems that ingest and process documents from customer ERPs and inboxes.
- Develop AI agents to complete complex, multi-page compliance and food safety documents.
- Own features end to end across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Ship quickly, learn from user feedback, and adjust the product as customer needs evolve. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Typically 1 to 10+ years of experience, with demonstrated product impact and ownership valued over tenure.
- Experience building and shipping products or major features that real users rely on, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs.
- Founding, founder, or early engineering experience at a startup is a strong fit.
- Strong full-stack skills, including backend services, frontend development, and relational database design.
- Experience with production AI or LLM products, agents, RAG, search, or automation.
- Familiarity with Kotlin and Spring Boot, React and Next.js, Postgres, and cloud platforms such as GCP is useful. Experience with other stacks is welcome, with the ability to learn Kotlin.
- Document processing, unstructured data extraction, or experience in food manufacturing, supply chain, or other traditional industries is beneficial. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary is $200,000 to $300,000 annually, plus 0.5% to 2% equity. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION Full-time, on-site role in San Francisco, California, United States.
