Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an FP&A Lead based in the United States. As an FP&A Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, improving gross margins, and supporting sustainable profitability within a growing healthcare technology organization. You will transform operational, clinical, and contractual data into actionable financial insights that guide executive decisions and strategic investments. Working closely with the Corporate Controller and cross-functional leaders, you will take ownership of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis. You will identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve unit economics, and strengthen customer and contract performance. You will also evaluate innovative care delivery models and automation initiatives, quantifying their financial impact and return on investment. This high-visibility role offers significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to influence business strategy through data-driven financial decisions.
Gross Margin Analysis and Optimization: Build and maintain detailed gross margin models covering the full cost of service, including medical devices, cellular connectivity, clinical operations, and logistics. Identify margin improvement opportunities and assess the financial impact of operational changes. Unit Economics and Cost Analysis: Track and analyze unit economics at the patient and program levels, evaluating key margin drivers such as device costs, connectivity fees, staffing productivity, and resource utilization. Cross-Functional Margin Improvement: Partner with Operations, Clinical, and Supply Chain teams to translate financial insights into actionable initiatives, assigning clear ownership, establishing measurable targets, and tracking progress toward profitability goals. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts using driver-based revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and operating expense models. Financial Reporting and Variance Analysis: Prepare monthly management reports and variance analyses that explain financial performance, identify the underlying drivers of deviations, and recommend corrective actions. Executive and Board Reporting: Develop key performance indicator (KPI) packages, financial scenarios, and supporting materials for executive leadership and board meetings, ensuring financial insights are clear, accurate, and decision-oriented. Customer and Contract Profitability: Develop customer- and contract-level profit-and-loss analyses to identify which health system relationships, pricing structures, and contractual terms contribute to or reduce profitability. Contract and Pricing Analysis: Model the financial implications of contract negotiations, amendments, fee adjustments, and renewals before agreements are finalized. Identify underperforming accounts and recommend pricing or operational changes to improve margins. New Care Model Economics: Evaluate pricing scenarios and unit economics for emerging care delivery models, including Advanced Primary Care Management (APCM), and assess their potential contribution to financial performance. Automation and Agentification Analysis: Quantify the financial impact of automating clinical and operational workflows by comparing cost-to-serve before and after implementation, identifying efficiency gains, and evaluating scalability. Return on Investment Analysis: Support go-to-market and product decisions with financial models that demonstrate return on investment, payback periods, and the expected impact of strategic initiatives. Finance Operations Partnership: Work closely with the Corporate Controller to maintain alignment between actual financial results, month-end close processes, budgets, and forecasts. Continuous Financial Improvement: Establish reliable analytical processes and deliver timely insights that support better resource allocation, informed decision-making, and measurable improvements in profitability. Requirements Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, strategic finance, or a related field. Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling capabilities, including three-statement models, driver-based forecasts, scenario analysis, and financial planning tools. Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build sophisticated models, analyze large datasets, and translate complex information into actionable insights. Gross Margin and Unit Economics: Demonstrated experience analyzing gross margins, unit economics, cost structures, or customer-level profitability, with a track record of identifying opportunities for financial improvement. Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience supporting budgeting cycles, rolling forecasts, monthly reporting, and variance analysis, ideally in a fast-growing or operationally complex business. Commercial and Contract Analysis: The ability to evaluate customer profitability, pricing models, contract structures, and financial trade-offs to support sustainable growth. Executive Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial findings clearly and directly to senior executives, operational leaders, and non-finance stakeholders. Analytical Problem-Solving: A data-driven mindset and strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to investigate financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and develop practical recommendations. Ownership and Adaptability: Comfort working in an evolving environment with broad responsibilities, incomplete information, and competing priorities. A proactive, action-oriented approach and a commitment to financial accuracy are essential. Education: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. Preferred Systems Experience: Familiarity with QuickBooks, Salesforce, Databricks, Tableau, Coefficient, and Google Workspace. Preferred Industry Experience: Background in healthcare, health technology, or remote patient monitoring (RPM), ideally with knowledge of CPT billing codes, Medicare reimbursement, or value-based care economics. Preferred Reporting Experience: Previous involvement in executive-level financial reporting, board presentations, or strategic planning discussions. Preferred Growth-Stage Experience: Experience in a high-growth technology or tech-enabled services organization, particularly in roles focused on cost optimization, margin expansion, and operational efficiency. Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment-based visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Benefits Competitive Base Salary: Annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $125,000 , depending on experience and skills. Potential Bonus or Equity: Additional bonus or equity compensation may be considered as part of the overall compensation package. Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Retirement Savings: Access to a 401(k) retirement plan. Paid Time Off: PTO to support personal well-being and work-life balance. Fully Remote Work: The flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the United States. High-Impact Responsibilities: Direct involvement in margin improvement, financial strategy, pricing decisions, and profitability initiatives.
