Full job description

ETAs assist English teaching in grades 4–8 and generally spend about 25 hours per week in classrooms plus preparation and school activities. The programme includes one month of orientation with Nepali-language training. Published benefits include a $1,000 monthly stipend, international travel, health benefits, an English-teaching preparation course, paid semi-furnished housing, and one-time baggage, language/incidental and settling-in allowances.

Requirements & qualifications

Applicants must satisfy Fulbright U.S. Student eligibility, including U.S. citizenship. The Nepal ETA accepts Bachelor's and Master's degree levels. Preferred candidates include Master's holders with teaching experience or Bachelor's holders with teaching certification and 1–2 years of teaching experience. Fluent spoken English is essential; selected ETAs must complete 60 hours of online TEFL fundamentals unless they document comparable training. Residence in Nepal for six months or more in the prior year is not permitted and dual citizens of Nepal are ineligible.
