Overview

The Fulbright Joint-Supervision Program is open for Moroccan doctoral candidates to conduct supervised doctoral research at a U.S. university during the 2027–2028 cycle.

Complete scholarship details

Selected Moroccan PhD candidates can conduct up to 12 months of funded research at an American university under a U.S. co-supervisor, with the programme allowing the supported research period to be divided when appropriate. Verified benefits include a monthly stipend for a total of 12 months, reasonable approved host-university charges, up to USD 1,000 for books and materials, up to USD 1,000 for necessary academic equipment, and medical insurance during the U.S. stay.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must be Moroccan doctoral candidates and must secure commitments and authorization from both their Moroccan dissertation supervisor and an American PhD co-supervisor. The application requires evaluations/support from both supervisors and proof of doctoral registration. MACECE states that applicants must be physically resident in Morocco through the application, nomination, placement and selection phases; current U.S. students and U.S. permanent residents are not eligible. Successful grantees must return to Morocco under the programme rules.

Tips for this scholarship

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified on the official MACECE programme page, which states that the application is open, launched 1 August 2026 and closes 15 December 2026. The official Morocco higher-education scholarship portal also lists the USA Fulbright doctoral research 2027–2028 deadline as 15 December 2026. No deadline timezone is published, so only deadline_date is stored.
