The grant is planned from September 2027 through May/June 2028. The Fulbright Commission in Egypt arranges the host affiliation and assists with government clearance. The official award page lists an estimated EGP 40,000 monthly stipend, international travel and relocation support, Commission-arranged housing, research/materials, local transport and limited Arabic-language-study support.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral degree program in the United States and remain enrolled throughout the grant. The proposed project must be directly linked to the applicant's graduate dissertation research. Arabic is recommended but not required; applicants conducting work in English must demonstrate project feasibility. Residency in Egypt in the prior year is permitted and Egyptian dual citizens are eligible.
