A 6–9 month Fulbright U.S. Student independent study/research award in Eswatini for eligible U.S. citizens at bachelor's, master's or doctoral level.
Complete fellowship details
Grants may begin between August 2027 and March 2028. The official award lists an estimated USD 2,800 monthly stipend and USD 3,550 in one-time allowances for settling-in, research/materials and excess baggage, together with international travel and health benefits. Applicants are responsible for securing an appropriate host affiliation; an affiliation letter is recommended but not required at the deadline.
Eligibility requirements
Eligible U.S. citizens must meet Fulbright U.S. Student rules. Bachelor's, master's and doctoral-level candidates are considered. English is sufficient for many projects, although Siswati may be needed for rural research. Graduate degree enrollment is not offered under this award.
