Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Fullstack Engineer, Investigator Tools based in Germany. We are looking for a talented Fullstack Engineer to build innovative, data-intensive applications that help financial institutions detect and investigate fraud more effectively. In this remote-first role, you will combine backend engineering expertise with frontend development to transform complex data systems into intuitive, high-performance investigative tools. You will develop advanced graph visualization capabilities and powerful search experiences that enable analysts to uncover suspicious transactions and identify sophisticated fraud networks. Taking ownership of features from initial discovery through implementation and continuous improvement, you will have a direct impact on product quality and customer outcomes. You will collaborate closely with product, design, data and business teams in a fast-growing, international technology environment. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who thrives on solving ambiguous problems, building scalable systems and delivering meaningful solutions in the fight against financial crime.
Own end-to-end feature development: Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from understanding user needs and defining problem spaces to technical modeling, user experience implementation, deployment and iterative improvement. Build intuitive investigative tools: Transform complex backend systems and data structures into accessible, user-friendly interfaces that help fraud analysts investigate suspicious activities efficiently. Develop advanced graph systems: Design, implement and optimize graph-based applications that visualize relationships between entities and help investigators uncover complex fraud rings and suspicious transaction patterns. Create high-performance search capabilities: Build and refine search tools that enable users to navigate large datasets, identify relevant information and investigate potential financial crime quickly. Develop scalable backend services: Build reliable, efficient backend systems and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, Go and other appropriate server-side technologies to support data-intensive applications. Deliver engaging frontend experiences: Develop responsive, performant user interfaces using React and TypeScript, ensuring complex workflows remain intuitive and accessible. Design robust data models and pipelines: Develop technical data models and production-grade data pipelines capable of processing and supporting large volumes of complex information. Collaborate across teams: Work closely with product, design, data and account management teams to translate business objectives and user feedback into effective technical solutions. Maintain system reliability and performance: Proactively identify, investigate and resolve bugs, optimize application performance and write efficient, production-ready code. Drive continuous improvement: Navigate evolving requirements, exercise independent judgment and take full ownership of technical challenges, delivering polished, maintainable and scalable features. Requirements: Fullstack engineering experience: Extensive hands-on experience developing production-ready applications using TypeScript, Node.js, React, Go and other server-side programming languages. Data-intensive application expertise: Proven experience building and maintaining applications that handle large datasets, complex workflows and demanding performance requirements at scale. Data modeling and pipeline development: Strong knowledge of technical data modeling, data processing architectures and the design and implementation of reliable production data pipelines. Frontend engineering proficiency: Ability to create intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that simplify complex technical concepts and support sophisticated investigative workflows. Backend development expertise: Strong understanding of server-side architecture, API development, performance optimization and scalable application design. Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to break down ambiguous, technically challenging problems and develop practical, robust solutions that address user and business needs. End-to-end ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently manage features from initial discovery and technical design through implementation, delivery and ongoing refinement. Adaptability in a fast-growing environment: Comfort working in a high-growth startup where priorities evolve, requirements may be unclear and engineers are expected to take initiative. Cross-functional communication: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with product managers, designers, data specialists and other stakeholders. Commitment to quality: A proactive approach to debugging, testing, code efficiency, system reliability and continuous technical improvement. Remote collaboration: Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively and collaborate with a distributed international team. Location requirements: Ability to work remotely while maintaining a home base in the country of employment, with compensation determined partly by geographic location. Benefits: Competitive compensation: Annual salary range of €112,000–€128,000, depending on location, qualifications, professional experience and interview performance. Equity participation: Equity opportunities that allow employees to share in the company's growth, with early exercise available for all options, including pre-vested options. Remote-first work environment: Flexibility to work remotely within your country of employment, without a requirement to commute to an office. Flexible paid time off: Paid leave designed to support personal commitments, work-life balance and individual well-being. Year-end break: Additional time to recharge during the end-of-year period. Health and wellness support: Annual health and wellness stipend to support personal well-being. Home office equipment: A MacBook Pro delivered to your home, plus a one-time stipend to set up your workspace with items such as a desk, chair and monitor. Meal allowance: Monthly meal stipend. Social connection: Monthly stipend to support social meetups and connections with colleagues. Professional development: Annual learning stipend to support continued education, skills development and career growth. Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and dependents, where applicable in the United States and Canada. Retirement contributions: Employer matching of up to 4% through 401(k) or RRSP plans, where applicable in the United States and Canada. International collaboration: The opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals from around the world on technology that addresses complex, real-world financial crime challenges. Meaningful impact: Contribute directly to tools and systems that help organizations prevent fraud, investigate suspicious activity and protect customers.
