Overview

The Future Leaders in Quantum Computing program is accepting domestic and international PhD applicants for industry-integrated quantum research at UNSW Sydney or UTS through 8 October 2026.

Complete scholarship details

The ARC Training Centre for Future Leaders in Quantum Computing (FLiQC), in partnership with Sydney Quantum Academy, offers industry-integrated PhD scholarships in quantum technology. The scholarship provides a stipend of AU$42,754 per year at the 2026 rate, indexed annually, for up to four years. Scholars undertake a research project co-designed with industry partners, engage substantively with industry, join an industry-ready skills program and participate in the SQA PhD Experience Program. The current program page lists UNSW Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney as participating universities.

Eligibility requirements

Open to domestic and international students. Applicants are expected to enrol full-time in a quantum-technology-related PhD at a participating FLiQC university, obtain the support of the listed project supervisor before applying, and hold a PhD offer of admission before a scholarship can be awarded. International recipients must hold or be able to obtain a valid visa for the scholarship term. Applicants must not hold another primary PhD stipend scholarship such as an RTP or equivalent.

Tips for this scholarship

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Review the listed FLiQC research projects before applying.
  2. Contact the relevant project supervisor and obtain support before submission.
  3. Prepare all supporting documents as one PDF in line with the scholarship instructions.
  4. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  5. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  6. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  7. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified against the current FLiQC scholarship page. Applications opened 26 August 2026 and close 8 October 2026. The source does not publish a closing clock time, so only deadline_date is set. The stipend is AU$42,754 p.a. at the 2026 rate and is indexed annually.
