What You'll Do The GL Accountant is involved in performing the end-to-end process of recording financial transactions and delivering accurate, compliant financial statements. Perform monthly and year end close including reporting to global accounting team Perform local, statutory reporting and filings. Co-operation with FP&A operations and sales for planning, forecasting and control General Ledger & Month-End Close Management Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes for German and international entities. Perform accurate and timely posting of manual journal entries, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and perform variance analysis to explain monthly fluctuations. Dual-Reporting Compliance (HGB vs. IFRS/US GAAP) Local Statutory (HGB): preparation of local financial statements according to German HGB. Group Reporting: Convert and reconcile local ledgers into Group reporting standards (US GAAP) Tax & Audit Support: Coordinate with local tax advisors for VAT (Umsatzsteuer) filings and corporate tax packs. Process Automation & Digitalization Drive continuous improvement initiatives to shorten the close cycle. Standardize and automate workflows using modern ERP tools – like Netsuite, Tipalti, Emburse. What You'll Bring 3–5 years of professional experience in accounting, with solid knowledge of accounting processes and practices Strong understanding of business processes and interdependencies, combined with analytical and logical thinking Strong communication and presentation skills, with a high level of commercial and cost awareness Language requirements: German : B2–C1 level, required English : Strong business proficiency, both written and verbal, required Why Join Berlitz?
