Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Accounting Operations Specialist based in the United States. The Global Accounting Operations Specialist will play a key role in supporting global finance operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across accounts receivable and related accounting processes. You will manage customer cash applications across multiple entities, currencies, and bank accounts while investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items. Beyond core accounts receivable responsibilities, you will gain exposure to expense management, accounts payable, sales order reviews, and month-end closing activities. Working closely with cross-functional finance teams, you will help strengthen financial controls and maintain reliable accounting records. You will also contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and the standardization of accounting operations across international entities. This remote opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys solving problems, improving workflows, and growing within a collaborative, globally distributed environment.
Global Cash Application and Accounts Receivable: Process and accurately apply customer payments across multiple entities, currencies, and bank accounts. Match remittances to outstanding invoices, investigate unidentified, unapplied, short-paid, overpaid, or misapplied cash, and coordinate with Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Accounting, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies. Monitor aged unapplied cash, clear outstanding items, and support cash and accounts receivable reconciliations. Expense Management and Concur Reviews: Review employee expense reports submitted through Concur to verify account and department coding, supporting documentation, approval workflows, and compliance with expense policies. Investigate unusual transactions, collaborate with employees and approvers to resolve exceptions, and escalate complex accounting or policy questions when necessary. Identify opportunities to improve consistency and automate expense-reporting processes. Accounting and Month-End Support: Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities related to cash and accounts receivable. Prepare assigned reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation, assist with journal entries, investigate reconciling items, and respond to internal and external audit requests. Sales Order Reviews and Financial Accuracy: Support the review of sales orders flowing from Salesforce to NetSuite, identifying and resolving errors before they lead to downstream billing, revenue recognition, or accounting issues. Develop familiarity with additional accounting operations, including accounts payable and related financial workflows. Process Improvement and Documentation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate cash application and sales order review processes. Maintain clear process documentation and appropriate backup procedures, contribute to finance system implementations and integrations, and support the standardization of accounting processes across global entities and acquired businesses. Requirements Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. Ideally, you have 2–4 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, accounting, billing, or a related function, with experience in a multinational or multi-entity environment considered an advantage. Accounting Knowledge: A solid understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial controls, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records. Systems Proficiency: Experience with NetSuite or another enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Salesforce or another customer relationship management (CRM) platform is an advantage. Experience with Concur or similar expense management tools is also beneficial. Technical and Analytical Skills: Strong Excel skills, sound analytical judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities. You should be comfortable working with high transaction volumes, investigating exceptions, and identifying opportunities to improve processes. Attention to Detail and Organization: A high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks while meeting deadlines, particularly during month-end and other financial closing periods. Communication and Collaboration: The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across a global finance organization. You should be proactive in resolving issues, communicating clearly with stakeholders, and escalating complex matters when appropriate. Continuous Improvement Mindset: An interest in process optimization, automation, documentation, and developing broader accounting operations expertise. Comprehensive healthcare: Extended benefits covering health, dental, and vision care for you and your family, including employer-paid offerings.
