Full job description
Founded in Hong Kong in 2013, Lalamove is an on-demand delivery platform that redefines logistics through technology. Driven by our mission to "empower local communities by making delivery fast and affordable," we are a global unicorn operating across markets in Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. We seamlessly connect people, vehicles, and freight to support city infrastructure. We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team in Tokyo. In this role, you will support marketing initiatives and contribute to elevating our brand value through a wide range of creative deliverables, including graphic design and video editing. Bring your creative talent and adaptable mindset to help achieve our business goals in the Japanese market.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create marketing communication materials (both static and video) that meet creative briefs, timelines, and budgets. Develop creative concepts and brand assets across campaigns and departments (e.g., key visuals, social content, EDMs, web assets). Plan and produce video content (including video editing and motion graphics) for social ads, promotional campaigns, and brand awareness initiatives. Perform basic image retouching, editing, and asset adaptations. Gather requirements from other teams (e.g., Driver Operations, People Team) and translate them into effective creative deliverables. Assist the Marketing Manager in coordinating creative production with external agencies and vendors (e.g., photo/video shoots, animation, ad installation). Provide flexible support on broader operational tasks beyond traditional creative duties (e.g., event prep, data organization, field operation support) based on business needs in a growing startup environment.
Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree or vocational diploma in Multimedia, Graphic Design, Advertising, or a related field, with 2+ years of hands-on experience. Hands-on experience in design and video editing using Mac and Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects). Business-level fluency or higher in both Japanese and English. Team player with a startup mindset who thrives and adapts in a fast-paced, diverse, and dynamic environment. Strong visual design sense, video storytelling skills, keen attention to detail, and a solid grasp of current design trends. Deep local insight into the Japanese market (culture, consumer behavior, and trends). ※A portfolio must be submitted along with your resume (required). Preferred Skills & Experience Prior experience at a startup, agency, or production house. Advanced skills in motion graphics and animation. Experience collaborating with and directing external creative/web agencies or production vendors.
Proactive: Thrives in a fast-moving environment, taking the initiative to identify challenges and drive solutions. Adaptable & Ownership-Minded: Willing and eager to step outside traditional creative boundaries to support broader business growth. Insight-Driven: Base design and video decisions on data and user insights, continuously testing, validating, and iterating. Collaborative: Works seamlessly with diverse internal and external stakeholders across local and global teams to move projects forward.
High Autonomy & Broad Scope: Deeply engage across the full creative cycle—from concept to final delivery—covering both static graphics and video in a dynamic global startup setting. Tangible Business Impact: Go beyond operating off fixed templates; pitch and build visuals/videos tailored to the Japanese market to help establish our local brand presence from the ground up. Direct Contribution: Your designs and videos will reach users and drivers nationwide, directly driving brand awareness and growth while building a strong personal portfolio.
