Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Grid Strategy & Operations Leader based in the United States. The Grid Strategy & Operations Leader will shape the global strategy and commercial direction of grid integration technologies across a wind turbine portfolio, helping ensure solutions meet evolving customer needs, regulatory requirements, and energy market demands. In this senior leadership role, you will guide a team of Product and Program Managers while connecting engineering innovation with commercial priorities and customer expectations. You will own the multi-generation technology roadmap, prioritize product features, and lead the commercialization of advanced grid integration capabilities. Working closely with engineering, commercial teams, utilities, grid operators, and regulators, you will translate complex technical requirements into clear strategic priorities and compelling customer value propositions. You will also oversee program execution, software development milestones, and testing schedules to ensure alignment with product releases and customer commitments. This opportunity is suited to a strategic, technically informed leader passionate about renewable energy, cross-functional collaboration, and advancing reliable, competitive power systems.

Lead, develop, and support a team of Product and Program Managers responsible for new product introduction (NPI), commercial milestones, and roadmaps covering grid integration, power plant controls, and converter software. Define and drive the global grid integration strategy by analyzing customer needs, electricity market trends, grid operator requirements, and regulatory developments. Own the multi-generation technology roadmap, establishing feature priorities and development sequences in partnership with engineering leadership. Act as the primary interface between commercial and engineering teams, balancing competing feature requests against regional market needs, technical feasibility, customer expectations, and business priorities. Represent technical capabilities in customer and regulator engagements, serving as a trusted advocate for grid integration solutions and bringing the voice of the customer into internal engineering decisions. Lead external stakeholder engagement, which may account for approximately 30–50% of the role, including interactions with utilities, grid operators, customers, and regulators. Develop and maintain commercialization strategies, value propositions, and sales support materials that clearly communicate the benefits of complex grid integration technologies. Provide programmatic leadership for grid integration software development and testing, managing schedules, execution, pacing, and critical delivery milestones. Partner with engineering leadership to balance emerging technologies, including grid-forming converters and hybrid storage solutions, with the requirements of specific turbine models and target markets. Ensure grid integration activities remain aligned with product release plans, commercial commitments, project schedules, and customer delivery requirements. Build consensus across a complex, matrixed organization, aligning technical and commercial stakeholders around shared strategic objectives. Use market intelligence, quantitative analysis, and customer feedback to guide investment decisions, resolve competing priorities, and maintain a competitive technology portfolio. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution, combined with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience. At least 5 years of experience in renewable energy grid integration, product management, or program management. At least 3 years of experience leading engineering projects, technical teams, or functional engineering organizations. Advanced English proficiency. Deep understanding of electricity markets, regulatory environments, power system requirements, and the challenges associated with renewable energy grid integration. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic roadmaps, manage product priorities, and connect technical development with customer needs and commercial objectives. Experience managing complex technical programs, software-based products, product releases, or engineering development initiatives. Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and align engineering, commercial, and other business teams around common goals. Experience in customer-facing roles, including managing high-stakes relationships with utilities, grid operators, regulators, or other external stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex quantitative information and translate it into actionable business decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts through clear, compelling strategic messaging. Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to build consensus, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a complex, matrixed environment. Preferred: An advanced degree, such as an MBA or a Master’s degree in Engineering, from an accredited university. Work location: Preferred locations are Schenectady, New York, or Greenville, South Carolina. Highly qualified candidates based elsewhere in the United States may be considered for remote work. Work authorization: Candidates applying for the US-based position must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment offers are subject to successful completion of a drug screen, where applicable. Benefits: Annual base salary range of $153,800–$256,200 , with geographic salary differentials of 110%, 120%, or 130% in eligible locations. The final offer may depend on experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors. Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus. Remote work opportunity for eligible US-based candidates. Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. Access to a 24/7 nurse-based health coaching resource. Employee Assistance Program offering confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services 24/7. Retirement savings plan with a tax-advantaged 401(k) option, company matching contributions, and additional company retirement contributions. Access to financial planning resources and Fidelity consultants. Tuition assistance and professional development opportunities. Adoption assistance and paid parental leave. Disability benefits and life insurance. 12 paid holidays and permissive time off. No relocation assistance is provided.
