Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Health Care Contracting Senior Associate based in the United States. This role supports healthcare contracting and payment activities for moderately complex engagements within a research and development environment. You will manage contracting workflows from drafting and review through execution, documentation, and system updates. The position also oversees payment activities, including invoice and expense review, discrepancy resolution, and timely processing. You will work across Legal, Sourcing, Finance, Accounts Payable, Compliance, and other stakeholders to keep engagements moving efficiently. The role combines operational execution, compliance, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving within established processes and guidelines. You will exercise sound judgment when addressing moderately complex issues while identifying and escalating risks or non-standard situations. This is a fully remote opportunity suited to a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a structured, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.

Execute healthcare contracting activities throughout the lifecycle of moderately complex engagements using established templates, playbooks, processes, and guidance. Draft, review, process, and coordinate contracts, ensuring accurate documentation, execution, and system updates. Manage payment activities for assigned engagements, including reviewing invoices and expenses for accuracy and alignment with contractual terms. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and help ensure timely completion of payment workflows. Triage incoming requests and route work according to established processes, priorities, and service-level expectations. Manage assigned workloads effectively to meet deadlines, service levels, and operational requirements. Perform required healthcare compliance checks and ensure that engagement documentation is complete and accurate. Identify potential risks, exceptions, and non-standard scenarios and escalate them appropriately with sufficient context. Partner with Legal, Sourcing, Finance, Accounts Payable, Compliance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support efficient contracting and payment execution. Communicate requirements clearly and respond to stakeholder questions and requests throughout the engagement lifecycle. Resolve moderately complex operational issues within established frameworks and escalate ambiguous or high-risk matters when necessary. Support the resolution of recurring operational issues and identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and service delivery. Contribute to process enhancements, implementation activities, and audit-related initiatives. Provide informal guidance and support to less experienced team members when appropriate. Requirements Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of related experience in resource management, paralegal work, contracting, financial accounting, or a related field. Alternatively, an associate's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with legal, research, or clinical development environments within the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred. Understanding of medical and scientific terminology is advantageous. Experience in finance, resource management, budget management, contracting, or related operational functions is beneficial. Familiarity with analytics and business applications such as Microsoft Access, Spotfire, Tableau, or Smartsheet is preferred. Experience with document management, portfolio planning, supply chain, or financial systems such as Planisware, Veeva, SAP, or Ariba is a plus. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience working with virtual teams and collaborative technology platforms. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, critical-thinking, and written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and a compliance-focused approach to documentation and operational execution. Ability to work effectively within a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment. Strong planning and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise sound judgment, resolve issues within established guidelines, and recognize when escalation is required. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and stakeholder needs may evolve. Benefits Annual salary range of $101,675.30–$137,560.70 . Comprehensive health and welfare benefits for eligible employees and dependents. Medical, dental, and vision coverage. Life and disability insurance. Flexible spending account options. Retirement and savings plan with company contributions. Discretionary annual bonus program, subject to eligibility. Stock-based long-term incentives, subject to eligibility. Paid time-off plans designed to support work-life balance. Flexible work models where applicable. Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
