Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Inside Sales Manager — Inbound Consultative Sales based in the United States. We are seeking an experienced Inside Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing, fully remote team of sales representatives specializing in inbound, consultative sales. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team conducting video consultations with small business owners seeking practical solutions to challenging financial situations. You will be responsible for sales performance, conversion rates, recruitment, coaching, and the professional development of your team. Working closely with sales operations, you will help new representatives transition into live selling and build the skills needed to succeed. The role emphasizes empathetic, needs-based conversations rather than high-pressure sales tactics, ensuring customers receive guidance tailored to their circumstances. With a growing team and expanding leadership opportunities, you will have the autonomy to improve results, develop future leaders, and make a measurable impact on business growth.

Lead sales performance: Manage the team's conversion rates, production targets, and budget, aiming to exceed a 20% conversion rate on completed appointments, with a target of 25%. Coach and develop representatives: Provide hands-on coaching during live calls and video consultations, helping team members strengthen their consultative selling techniques, objection handling, and ability to identify customer needs. Manage recruitment and team development: Participate in final interviews, make hiring decisions alongside the relevant stakeholders, and manage team staffing and performance, including personnel decisions. Support new-hire ramp-up: Partner with the sales operations team to support new representatives from their first live calls, reinforcing effective sales practices and helping them achieve performance expectations. Develop future leaders: Identify high-potential team members, provide mentorship, and prepare qualified representatives for future leadership opportunities. Optimize sales processes: Monitor team metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement targeted improvements to conversion rates, quota attainment, and ramp-up speed. Maintain a customer-centered sales culture: Ensure that representatives approach every consultation with empathy, integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to recommending appropriate solutions without unnecessary pressure. Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with sales operations and leadership to align coaching priorities, improve team effectiveness, and support the organization's continued growth. Requirements Inside sales management experience: At least 2 years of experience managing an inside sales team, with demonstrated responsibility for team performance and representative development. Remote sales leadership: Proven experience leading a remote team that conducts sales conversations by phone or video. Consultative selling expertise: A strong understanding of needs-based selling, including diagnosing customer situations, building trust, and recommending suitable solutions rather than relying on scripted pressure tactics. Short-cycle sales experience: Experience managing sales processes where deals typically close during the first conversation or within approximately two weeks. Measurable performance improvements: A proven track record of improving at least one meaningful team metric, such as conversion rate, quota attainment, or time to productivity, supported by clear before-and-after results. Coaching and leadership skills: Strong communication, performance management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach individuals and build an accountable, results-oriented team. Preferred industry experience: Experience leading inbound sales teams in debt relief, tax resolution, credit repair, debt consolidation, consumer bankruptcy intake, loan origination, phone-based insurance sales, or similar customer-focused services. Empathetic leadership approach: The ability to balance commercial objectives with compassion, sound judgment, and respect for customers facing difficult financial circumstances. Employment eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a W-2 employee. Visa sponsorship is not available, and employment eligibility may depend on the state of residence. Benefits Competitive compensation: $75,000 annual base salary, plus a team production bonus and an annual KPI-based bonus. High earning potential: Estimated first-year on-target earnings of $135,000–$200,000 or more, depending on performance. Transparent compensation structure: A written bonus plan detailing performance measures, rates, and payout criteria provided before acceptance. Fully remote work: Work from home anywhere in the United States, subject to employment eligibility and applicable state restrictions. Paid time off: Four weeks of PTO annually, with one week granted upon starting. Paid holidays: All national holidays, plus Good Friday and Christmas Eve. Health insurance: Health insurance benefits planned to launch in Q1 2027. Retirement benefits: Retirement plan planned to launch in Q1 2027. Career advancement: Opportunities to grow into additional leadership positions as the organization expands. Full-time employment: Permanent W-2 employment with a Monday-to-Friday schedule, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time.
