This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Insurance Data Analyst, HOA based in India. This role transforms complex homeowners insurance data into actionable insights that support profitable growth and better business decisions. You’ll partner closely with Product Managers and business leaders across pricing, underwriting, retention, and competitive intelligence. Your work will combine SQL-based analysis, business intelligence, dashboard development, and data quality management. You’ll use tools such as BigQuery, SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, and Python or R to uncover trends and measure business performance. The role offers significant autonomy, with opportunities to tackle ambiguous, cross-functional problems and identify opportunities before they escalate. You’ll work with global and U.S.-based stakeholders in a collaborative, data-driven insurance environment. Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries across BigQuery and SQL Server for recurring reporting, business analysis, and ad hoc requests. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that track key insurance KPIs, including quotes, binds, retention, premium, and business mix. Conduct descriptive and diagnostic analyses to identify trends, performance drivers, anomalies, and opportunities across the insurance portfolio. Evaluate product and business changes using cohort analysis, pre/post analysis, trend analysis, and other analytical approaches to quantify their impact. Support competitive intelligence initiatives by gathering, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing competitor information to inform pricing and product decisions. Partner with Product Managers and business leaders to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations. Maintain high standards of data accuracy and integrity through quality checks, reconciliations, source validation, and thorough documentation. Work independently on complex, cross-functional issues with potential mid- to long-term business implications, proactively identifying problems and opportunities. Use analytical and automation tools, including Python or R and AI-enabled tools, to improve research, analysis, and operational efficiency. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of professional experience, including 1+ years working in personal lines insurance within data analysis, actuarial, product analytics, or a related function. Strong SQL capabilities with hands-on experience using BigQuery and/or SQL Server. Advanced experience developing, maintaining, and interpreting Power BI dashboards and reports. Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel capabilities and strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Python or R for analytical work, automation, or data processing. Familiarity with AI-powered tools for accelerating research, analysis, and productivity. Experience working with global and/or U.S.-based business teams. Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain analytical findings to business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex problems, determine appropriate approaches, and make sound decisions with limited direction. Self-motivated and proactive approach, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues and opportunities before they become larger problems. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work approximately 8 hours per day, including 4 core U.S. hours of overlap from 7:30 PM–11:30 PM IST and 4 flexible hours. Reliable remote-work setup with a quiet workspace and internet connectivity of at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
