Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Intercompany Accountant based in Ireland. As an Intercompany Accountant, you will support international group accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely intercompany transactions across multiple entities. You will focus on cost-plus calculations, financial reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and period-end closing activities. Working closely with local finance teams and Group Finance stakeholders, you will help maintain consistent accounting practices and reliable financial reporting. You will analyze complex financial data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure transactions comply with approved agreements and internal controls. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing international organization operating in a fast-paced, post-IPO environment. You will also help strengthen accounting processes and support the financial infrastructure behind innovative AI cloud technologies.
You will manage assigned intercompany accounting activities from data validation and cost calculations through reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end reporting, ensuring compliance with established policies, methodologies, and control requirements. Cost-plus calculations and intercompany agreements Prepare end-to-end cost-plus calculations in accordance with approved intercompany agreements, methodologies, and markup rates. Extract and validate cost data, identify eligible costs, and apply agreed allocation keys, exclusions, and markups. Maintain detailed calculation schedules with clear links to source accounting records and supporting documentation. Calculate periodic intercompany charges and true-ups, and prepare journal entries for review and approval. Coordinate with local finance teams to validate cost inputs and ensure timely recording by both counterparties. Reconcile calculated charges against invoiced and recorded amounts, investigate discrepancies, and propose corrections. Support documentation demonstrating compliance with approved intercompany agreements and cost-plus methodologies. Reconciliations and discrepancy resolution Support monthly intercompany profit-and-loss reconciliations and quarterly balance-sheet reconciliations using NetSuite reports and established templates. Match transactions and balances between group entities by counterparty and currency. Investigate differences related to timing, foreign exchange, missing entries, incorrect coding, and other posting issues. Follow up with local finance teams to obtain supporting information and track outstanding items through resolution. Prepare correcting journal entries for review and post approved adjustments. Identify recurring discrepancies, analyze their root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions to the Intercompany Manager. Period-end close and reporting Complete assigned intercompany accounting activities within agreed deadlines and the Group close calendar. Maintain reconciliation trackers, documenting outstanding differences, follow-up actions, responsible owners, and dependencies. Provide clear explanations and supporting evidence for external audits, internal reviews, and finance-related queries. Communicate potential closing risks promptly when required inputs, confirmations, or corrections are delayed. SOX and internal controls Prepare and document an assigned subset of the FSCP-REP control series related to intercompany processes. Follow established accounting policies, control requirements, and documentation standards. Escalate material discrepancies, unusual transactions, and significant issues to the Intercompany Manager. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. You should be comfortable handling large financial datasets, investigating discrepancies, and collaborating with international finance teams while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines. At least five years of accounting experience, preferably in intercompany accounting or general ledger accounting within an international or multi-entity organization. Practical experience with cost allocations, intercompany recharges, or cost-plus calculations is an advantage. A degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables. Experience with NetSuite or a comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; NetSuite experience is preferred. Solid understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, foreign currency transactions, and month-end close procedures. Ability to analyze large financial datasets, identify patterns in reconciliation differences, and document clear root-cause analyses. Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to recurring, deadline-driven accounting activities. Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international finance teams. A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues across different entities and time zones. Adaptability and confidence working in a fast-changing, international, post-IPO environment where processes and responsibilities may evolve.
