Overview

Internships are a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom, with practical application and skill development in a professional workplace setting. They are typically short-term (one or two semesters) and have clearly defined objectives and goals that align with the student’s educational program (National Association of Colleges & Employers). How Can Uw Career Services Help Me Find Internships?

Career Service Professionals are available to help you learn more about internships, build your resume, discover personal goals, find career pathways, and learn more about networking. For more information, please schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Services Coordinator by emailing us, calling 766-2398, or stopping by Knight Hall room 222.

Remember to be proactive in your job search and before you apply for anything you should have a polished resume; ACES can assist you with this.

Each college and/or department has different requirements for receiving credit for your internship. Because of this, it is easiest to start with your academic advisor, faculty mentor, or an ACES staff to determine the next steps for your unique situation. If you wish you speak with an ACES staff member, you can email us or make an appointment with one of our career services staff members through Navigate. If you are unsure where to start, you can use the UWYO Career Services link to find the career services office for your college/department.
