The IT Operations Specialist plays a key role in maintaining efficient, secure, and well-organized IT operations within a collaborative technical environment. This position combines technical support, vulnerability tracking, documentation management, and coordination of day-to-day IT activities. You will work closely with technical teams to troubleshoot common issues, manage support tickets, and ensure operational tasks are completed accurately and on time. The role also involves monitoring security advisories, coordinating remediation efforts, and escalating potential risks to the appropriate technical owners. As an individual contributor, you will help improve internal processes, strengthen documentation practices, and support a reliable IT infrastructure. Review existing documentation for accuracy and identify gaps requiring improvement. Vulnerability Monitoring and Remediation Coordination: Monitor CVE alerts, vendor security advisories, and vulnerability notifications. Conduct initial assessments to identify potentially affected systems, determine the appropriate technical owners, create remediation tickets, track progress, and escalate overdue or significant issues according to established procedures. IT Ticket and Service Management: Review incoming IT support tickets for completeness, priority, and appropriate routing. Gather diagnostic information, coordinate escalations, follow up on unresolved requests, and identify recurring issues that may require further investigation. Technical Support: Provide Level 1 and appropriate Level 2 support for workstation, application, account access, authentication, VPN, and network connectivity issues. Ensure users receive timely assistance and that complex technical issues reach the appropriate specialists. Employee Lifecycle and Access Management: Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, account provisioning, access modifications, and routine identity management activities while following established security procedures. IT Operations Administration: Maintain IT inventories, service records, operational checklists, and other administrative documentation. Coordinate recurring IT activities and ensure tasks involving multiple teams are tracked through completion. Process Improvement and Collaboration: Work with IT, infrastructure, and security teams to improve documentation standards, support workflows, vulnerability follow-up, and recurring operational processes. Recommend practical improvements that enhance efficiency, accountability, and service quality. Requirements Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in IT operations, technical support, systems administration, infrastructure support, cybersecurity operations, or a related technical field. Technical Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve common operating system, application, account access, authentication, and connectivity issues. Technical Documentation: Ability to write clear, accurate, and accessible technical procedures, troubleshooting guides, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. Core IT Knowledge: Working knowledge of operating systems, networking fundamentals, identity and access management, and common enterprise applications. Security and Vulnerability Awareness: Familiarity with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), vendor security advisories, vulnerability severity assessments, and remediation tracking. Preferred Security Experience: Experience coordinating vulnerability remediation or using vulnerability scanning and security management platforms. Familiarity with CVSS, patch management, remediation timelines, and compensating controls is an advantage. Systems and Cloud Technologies: Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux environments is desirable, along with familiarity with AWS, identity providers, single sign-on (SSO), and multifactor authentication (MFA). Additional Relevant Experience: Background supporting regulated environments or working with infrastructure, cybersecurity, or DevOps teams is beneficial. Experience improving IT service processes, documentation standards, and recurring workflows is also valued.
