The Laos embassy page lists 2027 YLP routes in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, School of Government and School of Local Governance, with submission through designated recommending organizations. The embassy states a submission deadline in mid-September 2026 and instructs applicants to contact the relevant recommending organization for the exact date. Current 2027 MEXT YLP guidance provides a JPY 242,000 monthly allowance, qualifying economy airfare to and from Japan, and payment of entrance-examination, matriculation and tuition fees.
Eligibility requirements
Eligibility varies by YLP course and recommending authority. Current MEXT guidance describes YLP candidates as future national leaders and requires nationality of a participating country. For the Business Administration route, the 2027 guideline requires applicants to be in principle under 40 on 1 September 2027, be university graduates with strong academic results, have at least two years of full-time professional experience, and meet the programme's English and business-study expectations. Applicants must use the Laos-side recommending route specified for their chosen course.
