Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Java Tech Lead based in India . Join a product-focused technology environment developing cloud-based ERP solutions that help businesses optimize operations and improve productivity. As a Java Tech Lead, you will drive backend architecture, guide engineering decisions, and build scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. You will take ownership of system design, microservices development, database optimization, and production reliability while ensuring that engineering standards remain consistently high. Working closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and data teams, you will help deliver integrated solutions that meet evolving business requirements. You will also mentor developers, strengthen development workflows, and promote clean architecture and continuous improvement. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced Java professional who combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, problem-solving, and a strong sense of ownership.

Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and frameworks such as Quarkus, Spring Boot, Spring, and Java EE. Own backend architecture and ensure services are modular, extensible, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Lead and mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and promote engineering best practices. Make architectural decisions and guide system decomposition, service design, and the implementation of complex enterprise applications. Design, implement, and maintain microservices and distributed systems with appropriate fault tolerance, scalability, and observability. Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, product, and data teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end software solutions. Design and optimize relational database schemas using MySQL and PostgreSQL, ensuring efficient queries and reliable data access. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and asynchronous processing workflows. Establish effective development practices, including Git branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated code quality checks. Investigate system performance bottlenecks, implement monitoring solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and support smooth deployments. Contribute to architecture reviews, technical documentation, design discussions, and long-term technology planning. Use AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda to support application deployment, scaling, and infrastructure automation. Contribute occasionally to Python-based analytics modules and automation scripts where required. Balance immediate delivery priorities with long-term architectural quality, system reliability, and maintainability. Requirements: A BE, BTech, ME, MTech, or MCA degree is required. Approximately 6–11 years of overall professional experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience. The original role description also references 5–6 years of backend development experience. Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Quarkus, Spring Boot, Spring, and Java EE. Demonstrated experience in backend architecture, system decomposition, and microservices design principles. Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles. Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization. Good understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing. Proficiency with Git and collaborative software development workflows. Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose complex production issues. Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience guiding developers, reviewing code, and influencing technical decisions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, design, engineering, and operations teams. A proactive, self-driven approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to clean architecture and continuous improvement. Preferred qualifications: Hands-on Python experience for data processing, analytics integrations, or automation. Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture, including deployment, scalability, and cost optimization. Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployments. Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra. Experience with message brokers and queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS. Understanding of caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack. Benefits: Fully remote work: Work from home anywhere within India. Full-time employment: Join a full-time engineering role with technical leadership responsibilities. Competitive compensation: Salary is based on skills and experience; specific compensation figures are not provided. Technical ownership: Lead backend architecture and influence key engineering decisions across enterprise systems. Leadership opportunities: Mentor developers, guide engineering practices, and contribute to team development. Modern technology exposure: Work with Java frameworks, microservices, AWS cloud services, relational databases, and contemporary development workflows. Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product, frontend, DevOps, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions. Joining timeline: Immediate joiners or candidates available to join within 10 days are preferred. Interview process: The selection process includes an initial HR screening call, an online assessment requiring a dual-camera setup, a virtual technical interview, and an in-person final round if required. Additional benefits: Healthcare coverage, paid leave, bonuses, and other specific perks are not detailed in the provided job description.
