LUMS CAPE is recruiting a full-time laboratory technician to operate and maintain environmental analytical and air-quality equipment and support researchers, students, sampling, laboratory analysis and data-quality assurance.
Full job description
The role covers equipment installation, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance; researcher/student training; sample collection and analysis; SOPs and laboratory records; inventory and procurement support; and day-to-day development of CAPE research facilities. The initial appointment is one year with possible renewal subject to performance and available funding.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants need at least a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, chemistry, environmental science or a closely related field, plus relevant experience with laboratory or analytical equipment. Applicants should understand calibration, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, quality control, laboratory safety and chemical handling. Experience with ion chromatography, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry or elemental analysis is advantageous.
