Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Engineer, Frontier Traders based in France. Join an innovative blockchain ecosystem at the intersection of decentralised finance, trading infrastructure, and high-performance product engineering. In this role, you will take end-to-end technical ownership of a data-intensive trading platform serving professional traders, market makers, and high-frequency trading firms. You will build polished, responsive interfaces that transform complex market activity, portfolio data, and trading incentives into intuitive user experiences. Combining frontend expertise with full-stack engineering, you will shape architecture, develop real-time features, and ensure data accuracy, performance, and reliability under demanding market conditions. Working closely with traders, ecosystem partners, designers, and product stakeholders, you will have significant autonomy to influence the roadmap and deliver impactful solutions. This is an opportunity to help advance decentralised financial infrastructure while setting high engineering standards in a fast-moving, product-focused environment.
Own the technical direction, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of the trading platform, with a particular focus on the trader-facing product, user experience, and continuous product improvement. Design and develop sophisticated, responsive interfaces that make complex market, portfolio, trading, and rewards data accessible and intuitive for professional users. Build and optimise real-time product experiences, including portfolio dashboards, trading activity feeds, leaderboards, campaign interfaces, prize pools, VIP tier progression, and rebate tracking. Lead the development lifecycle of new features and products, from initial ideas and architectural decisions through implementation, launch, monitoring, and iteration. Work across frontend applications, APIs, backend services, databases, and data infrastructure to deliver cohesive, scalable product experiences. Collaborate with onchain data and indexing infrastructure teams to ensure trading activity across spot and perpetuals markets is accurately captured, processed, and presented. Manage integrations with ecosystem partners, including decentralised exchanges, perpetuals trading platforms, launchpads, wallets, and data providers, translating diverse technical capabilities into consistent user experiences. Engage directly with traders, proprietary trading firms, and market makers to understand their workflows, gather feedback, identify unmet needs, and translate insights into product improvements. Establish and maintain high engineering standards across frontend architecture, application performance, code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability. Make informed build-versus-integrate decisions, balancing development speed, maintainability, and product quality to meet the expectations of sophisticated trading users. Partner with design, product, trading, and growth stakeholders to shape the product roadmap, prioritise opportunities, and define effective technical and user experience solutions. Operate independently in an evolving environment, taking ownership of complex challenges even when they extend beyond your primary area of expertise. Requirements: A proven track record of building and launching user-facing products end to end, with clear personal ownership of technical decisions, implementation, and post-launch improvements. Deep expertise in modern frontend development, particularly TypeScript or JavaScript and frameworks such as React or Next.js, with experience building complex, data-rich applications. Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals and the ability to work comfortably across frontend applications, APIs, backend services, databases, and data infrastructure. Experience developing real-time, data-intensive interfaces where performance, data accuracy, state management, responsiveness, and usability are critical. Strong product instincts and user experience judgement, with the ability to make independent design decisions and turn complex requirements into intuitive, polished interfaces. Experience with data pipelines, indexing systems, or real-time infrastructure, including an understanding of how data flows from its source through processing layers into user-facing applications. Working knowledge of the Solana blockchain, including accounts, transactions, program interactions, and the reliable indexing and presentation of onchain activity. Familiarity with decentralised finance and market structure, including spot and perpetuals markets, automated market makers (AMMs), order books, maker and taker dynamics, trading fees, and rebates. The ability to take ownership across the entire product stack, troubleshoot unfamiliar technical challenges, and make sound architectural decisions in ambiguous situations. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, limited processes, and a high degree of autonomy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage directly with demanding external users and translate their feedback into effective product and technical decisions. Experience building trading interfaces, portfolio management products, financial dashboards, or other applications for sophisticated financial users is a strong advantage. Familiarity with points, rewards, loyalty, or incentive systems at scale, including the challenges of preventing abuse and designing resilient incentive mechanisms, is beneficial. Hands-on experience with Solana data infrastructure, including Helius, Pyth, Geyser plugins, or custom indexing solutions, is a plus. Experience with Rust, developing Solana programs, or building applications that interact directly with onchain programs is advantageous. Contributions to open-source Solana or DeFi projects, or personal experience trading onchain and evaluating trading products, are additional assets. Benefits: Remote working: Work remotely from an eligible location in Europe, with flexibility to organise your working environment. End-to-end ownership: Take responsibility for a high-impact product, influencing its technical architecture, user experience, and long-term direction. Technical autonomy: Work in a small, product-focused team with the freedom to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and deliver improvements without relying on narrowly defined tasks. Direct user collaboration: Work closely with professional traders, market makers, and trading firms to build products that address real-world needs. Exposure to cutting-edge technology: Develop expertise in blockchain infrastructure, decentralised finance, real-time market data, and high-performance trading applications. Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product, design, trading, and growth teams to shape product strategy and deliver cohesive solutions. Professional growth: Take on challenging engineering problems, influence technical standards, and expand your experience across the full product stack. Ecosystem impact: Contribute to the development of decentralised financial infrastructure and tools that support activity across the Solana ecosystem.
