Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Learning Experience Designer based in Netherlands. As a Lead Learning Experience Designer, you will shape engaging, practical, and outcome-driven learning programs that help professionals build the skills needed in a rapidly evolving workplace. You will lead the end-to-end design and development of learning experiences for enterprise, technical, and professional audiences, covering areas such as AI, digital transformation, leadership, and workplace productivity. Working closely with clients, subject matter experts, instructors, and cross-functional teams, you will translate complex concepts into accessible, hands-on learning solutions. You will also explore emerging technologies and AI-powered tools to create relevant activities, simulations, assessments, and real-world applications. Beyond individual programs, you will help build scalable learning products and reusable instructional resources. This fully remote, part-time contract opportunity offers flexibility, international collaboration, and the chance to influence the future of professional education.

Lead the end-to-end learning design process, from discovery and requirements gathering through development, quality assurance, and delivery. Define learning objectives, learner personas, project scopes, timelines, resource requirements, and development plans aligned with client needs and business goals. Collaborate with sales, product, client success, solutions, and delivery teams to identify learning needs and recommend appropriate programs and learning pathways. Support client discovery and pre-sales conversations by assessing audience readiness, skill gaps, program objectives, and relevant workplace use cases. Design and develop instructor-led learning experiences for technical and non-technical audiences across AI, emerging technologies, digital transformation, leadership, professional skills, and workplace productivity. Create engaging instructional materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, hands-on labs, case studies, simulations, assessments, and practical workplace exercises. Incorporate relevant AI tools and workplace technologies, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, NotebookLM, and Midjourney, into learning activities where appropriate. Develop interactive exercises covering prompt refinement, workflow mapping, use case development, technical labs, coding challenges, ethical decision-making, and real-world business simulations. Translate complex technical concepts into accessible, structured learning experiences in collaboration with subject matter experts. Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, accessibility standards, and learning science to support measurable outcomes and practical workplace application. Keep learning content current by monitoring industry trends, evolving technology capabilities, emerging best practices, and responsible technology use. Manage development schedules, deliverables, quality standards, and the resources required for successful program delivery, including subject matter experts, instructional designers, assessment specialists, instructors, vendors, and contractors. Prepare instructors to deliver high-quality training through facilitator resources, delivery guidance, tool setup instructions, troubleshooting materials, and activity facilitation notes. Partner with instructors and client teams to adapt programs for enterprise organizations, startups, government institutions, technical teams, business leaders, and cross-functional employee groups. Collect and analyze learning impact data to improve content, strengthen learner outcomes, and guide ongoing program development. Coordinate with translation and localization partners when adapting programs for international audiences. Work with product management and learning systems design teams to standardize reusable learning components, templates, assessments, activities, and program structures. Identify opportunities to turn customized learning materials into scalable products, repeatable delivery models, and reusable instructional resources. Contribute to the evolution of the learning portfolio by identifying emerging client requirements, market trends, and opportunities for new or improved learning solutions. Requirements: At least five years of professional experience in instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, or a related field, with substantial experience creating instructor-led training content. Demonstrated ability to design high-quality learning experiences for enterprise, professional, technical, and workplace audiences. Strong experience developing practical learning materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, activities, assessments, case studies, hands-on labs, simulations, and learner resources. Proven experience managing clients, stakeholders, subject matter experts, instructors, vendors, or cross-functional partners throughout a content development lifecycle. Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and frameworks, including Bloom’s Taxonomy, ADDIE, experiential learning, practice-based learning, and adult learning principles. Ability to design engaging learning experiences for both technical and non-technical audiences, including business teams, functional specialists, leaders, and technical practitioners. Hands-on fluency with current AI tools and the ability to use them to design, prototype, evaluate, and improve learning experiences. Experience developing learning programs related to AI, emerging technologies, data, digital transformation, technical skills, or workplace technology adoption. Strong working knowledge of AI concepts, including generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, machine learning, AI agents, ethical AI, responsible use, and enterprise AI adoption. Experience creating practical, interactive learning activities involving AI tools, technical labs, workflow exercises, case studies, simulations, or tool-based practice. Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and transform complex concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging learning content. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), content management systems, and instructional authoring tools. Flexibility to attend meetings across international time zones, particularly those covering the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where client needs, priorities, and technologies can change quickly. A strong interest in helping diverse learners develop practical, future-ready skills for the changing world of work. Nice to have: Technical knowledge of AI, data science, or coding, including Python, APIs, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks. Nice to have: Experience with GitHub or other technical collaboration tools, AI training labs, coding exercises, model-building workshops, or applied AI case studies.
