Lead SDET

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead SDET based in India. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for quality governance across frontend, middleware, and backend layers of a complex onboarding platform. You will shape test architecture, API contract testing, data modelling, and quality standards across a multi-layered technical environment. The role focuses on independently validating quality at every system layer rather than relying on assumptions made upstream. You will establish delivery standards, evidence requirements, quality gates, and traceability practices that support reliable technical outcomes. Working closely with QA Analysts, SDETs, and Test Operations teams, you will coordinate execution, resolve dependencies, and address cross-layer discrepancies. Your work will help transform detailed technical evidence into clear, traceable findings and stakeholder-ready deliverables. Provide technical governance across frontend, middleware, and backend testing layers. Establish and enforce QA delivery standards, evidence requirements, review processes, and quality gates. Review frontend constraint dictionaries and FSM/state-model outputs for completeness, consistency, and technical quality. Review API schema reconstructions, network evidence, and tracer replay outputs for technical quality and traceability. Coordinate with QA Analysts, SDETs, and Test Operations Associates to align technical execution with project timelines. Review test architecture decisions, validation approaches, and coverage strategies across the different testing layers. Coordinate dependency resolution, evidence rework, and cross-layer reconciliation throughout the engagement. Serve as the escalation point for cross-layer technical discrepancies and evidence-quality issues. Compile and quality-check raw technical evidence dossiers produced by different workstreams. Identify evidence gaps, inconsistencies, and areas requiring rework before materials are handed off to client stakeholders. Report on delivery health, technical risks, evidence quality, dependencies, and unresolved gaps. Prepare the technical evidence package for handoff to the client team responsible for final modelling and logic-gap assessment. Support technical readouts by ensuring findings are clearly connected to and traceable through empirical evidence. Mentor and guide SDETs and QA Analysts while maintaining consistent technical standards across the engagement. Requirements 8+ years of proven experience in QA leadership roles spanning multiple testing layers, including frontend, middleware, and backend. Demonstrated expertise in API contract testing architecture and governance. Practical experience with knowledge graph or entity-relationship data modelling and its application to testing and data traceability. Strong understanding of layered system architectures and the importance of independently validating quality at each layer rather than relying on upstream assumptions. Strong track record of technical delivery governance, including establishing standards, review processes, and quality gates. Deep technical grounding across manual testing, test automation, and systems-level testing, with the ability to guide teams across different QA disciplines. Experience mentoring or managing SDETs and QA Analysts. Excellent cross-functional leadership, stakeholder communication, and technical coordination skills. Experience leading complex, multi-week technical QA, API validation, or security-assessment engagements is strongly preferred. Experience establishing evidence and traceability models across complex technical workflows is preferred. Familiarity with knowledge graphs, entity-relationship models, or structured technical dependency and evidence modelling is preferred; deep knowledge-graph engineering expertise is not required. Strong ability to synthesize complex technical evidence into concise, stakeholder-ready findings and handoff materials. Ability to identify technical risks, manage dependencies, resolve discrepancies, and maintain quality across multiple workstreams. Benefits Rate of $17 per hour.
