In this remote role, with up to 75% travel, you will oversee end-to-end installation projects involving premise-based PBX systems, hosted voice solutions, and VoIP infrastructure. You will coordinate on-site teams, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure reliable, high-quality implementations. Working closely with customers, vendors, and internal support teams, you will manage projects from initial requirements through testing, documentation, and final handoff. You will also mentor junior technicians and contribute to continuous improvements in voice technology delivery. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex challenges and delivering dependable communication solutions.

Manage project delivery: Oversee the full implementation lifecycle, translating business requirements into technical plans and ensuring projects are completed within established timelines and budgets. Coordinate on-site teams: Direct installation teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure consistent execution of deployment activities across customer locations. Install and configure voice infrastructure: Implement hosted voice solutions, analog telephony environments, PBX systems, and VoIP platforms while ensuring seamless integration with existing network infrastructure. Troubleshoot complex technical issues: Diagnose and resolve voice, telephony, and network connectivity problems, including issues involving analog frames, wiring infrastructure, and IP-based communication systems. Develop and execute testing procedures: Create and perform test plans to validate new VoIP network components, capabilities, and service offerings before deployment or release. Manage technical documentation and handoffs: Prepare complete project closeout documentation and coordinate with internal support teams to ensure a smooth transition to ongoing operations. Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders: Work with technology vendors to evaluate new components, identify useful product enhancements, and improve existing or future customer solutions. Provide customer-facing leadership: Serve as the primary on-site contact during voice deployments, communicate project progress and outcomes, and maintain professional relationships with customers. Mentor and support team members: Coach junior technicians and engineers, share technical expertise, and promote best practices in voice and network implementation. Maintain quality and accountability: Follow established engineering standards, meet project commitments, and consistently deliver reliable, customer-focused results. Requirements Professional experience: At least 7 years of experience providing voice operations support within medium-sized to large organizations, working across multiple vendor platforms and technologies. Industry certifications: Relevant voice industry or vendor platform certifications. Voice infrastructure expertise: Extensive knowledge of large analog frames, their internetworking, and the architecture required to support complex telephony deployments. Wiring and telecommunications infrastructure: Strong understanding of Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) environments, including wiring, cross-connect fields, and their roles in large-scale voice installations. PBX and VoIP proficiency: Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting large-scale voice and VoIP solutions, including premise-based PBX systems, hosted voice platforms, analog environments, and all-IP deployments. Telecommunications services: Advanced knowledge of PRI, DID, POTS, and GS/LS trunks, along with the ability to support diverse voice connectivity requirements. Networking knowledge: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching protocols, SIP, LAN, WAN, and VLAN technologies. Network design and optimization: Experience designing or supporting Quality of Service (QoS), MPLS, VLAN, and multicast solutions. Technical leadership: Proven ability to lead on-site installation teams, coordinate project activities, resolve escalated technical issues, and guide less experienced team members. Customer communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to act as the primary technical liaison for customers during deployments. Project management: Experience managing technical projects, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering work within defined schedules and budgets. Vendor collaboration: Ability to work effectively with telecommunications vendors and evaluate emerging technologies and platform enhancements. Travel and transportation: Valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clear driving record, and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
