Full job description

Research duties include developing an emerging research profile, producing scholarly outputs, collaborating on research, seeking external research funding and grants, supporting consultancy and externally funded initiatives, and building applied research relationships with the tourism industry and government. Teaching areas include sustainable tourism, climate change, destination management, community-based and regenerative tourism, and tourism policy.

Requirements & qualifications

PhD or Master's degree in Tourism Management, Sustainable Development, Geography, Environmental Management, Island Studies or a closely related discipline, plus a postgraduate higher-education teaching qualification. The role expects knowledge of sustainable tourism, evidence of early teaching/student-support experience and research potential; English and French are assets and Bislama is advantageous. The successful candidate must meet Vanuatu immigration requirements and work full time in Port Vila.
