The Kingdom of Lesotho participated in the Africa Ministerial Mid-term Review of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 8th to the 9th September 2026. The purpose of the meeting was for the African Countries to prepare for the Global Mid-term review to assess progress in the implementation of DPoA Decade 2022 – 31 to be held in Doha, Qatar in March 2027.
It was in this meeting that Lesotho Chaired a session on Leveraging the power of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) to fight against multidimensional vulnerabilities. Furthermore, the session also assessed progress in digital infrastructure, connectivity and digital literacy with particular attention to access, affordability and inclusion.
Lesotho also made interventions in various sessions of the meeting highlighting progress and challenges of African LDCs in the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action.
The meeting concluded with adoption of an outcome document by consensus. The outcome document will form African regional contribution to the High-Level Midterm Review of the Doha Programme of Action for the LDCs to be held in Doha, Qatar in March, 2027.
