Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology Banding: Band 6 Location: Gloucester Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Working Pattern: 3 days a week, Wednesday to Friday Hourly Rate: £25-27 Umbrella equivalent via trust DE We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Microbiology to join our client’s team in Gloucester. This is a part-time, ongoing position working core hours only, ideally Weds-Fri, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service. Key Responsibilities You will perform culture, identification, and sensitivity testing of clinical specimens. You will detect bacterial infections using manual and automated techniques. Qualifications and Experience
- HCPC registration
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
- Experience in Microbiology within a clinical laboratory
- Experience with culture and sensitivity testing, on any of the enterics, urines, wounds or genitals benches
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
