This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Commercial Logistics & Supply Chain based in Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven logistics professional to lead freight forwarding and supply chain business development across Canada. The role focuses on expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities across integrated logistics services. You will work closely with commercial teams, senior leadership, cargo owners, and external stakeholders to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives. By combining market intelligence, financial analysis, and customer-focused solutions, you will help drive sustainable business performance and operational efficiency. The position offers the opportunity to influence commercial strategy across freight forwarding, third-party logistics, and multimodal transportation services. You will thrive in a dynamic, internationally connected environment that values innovation, collaboration, and long-term customer partnerships.

Commercial Strategy and Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to expand freight forwarding services across Canada, including logistics parks, non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC) services, third-party logistics (3PL), short-sea shipping, and integrated supply chain solutions. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with cargo owners and key customers, coordinating closely with commercial teams and prioritizing direct customer engagement to understand business needs and deliver tailored solutions. Market Expansion and Opportunity Assessment: Identify new business opportunities, evaluate their potential contribution, and coordinate the resources required to launch and develop new services. Financial and Commercial Analysis: Assess economic conditions, market trends, trade opportunities, and associated risks to support informed business decisions and profitable growth. Pricing and Financial Modelling: Contribute to pricing strategies, commercial structures, and financial models to evaluate the profitability and long-term viability of proposed logistics services. Strategic Planning and Execution: Direct the implementation of trading strategies across Canadian business units, supporting short- and long-term planning and ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, internal commercial teams, shareholders, government agencies, and external partners to advance strategic projects and resolve business challenges. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Provide senior leadership with regular updates, financial insights, project assessments, and actionable recommendations to improve business performance and support strategic decision-making. Requirements Education: A degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline, supported by knowledge of quantitative analysis and commercial principles. Professional Experience: At least five years of general management experience is expected. Experience within a third-party logistics (3PL) organization, particularly with an NVOCC licence, is a strong asset. Canadian Market Knowledge: Previous professional experience in Canada or direct experience working with Canadian industries is required to support effective market engagement and business development. Commercial Expertise: Demonstrated business acumen and experience managing complex commercial contracts, developing business strategies, and evaluating commercial opportunities. Financial and Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, including knowledge of statistics, business performance metrics, financial fundamentals, and macroeconomic trends affecting logistics and trade. Strategic Planning: Proven ability to develop and execute short- and long-term business plans, manage project costs, and assess the financial implications of commercial initiatives. Relationship Management: A track record of successfully managing relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, government agencies, and external business partners. Communication and Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers, negotiate commercial agreements, and deliver compelling formal presentations. Customer Focus: A strong commitment to service excellence, with the ability to build trusted relationships and develop solutions that address customer requirements. Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Professional Attributes: A proactive, commercially minded, and collaborative approach, combined with sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex business information into practical recommendations. Benefits Competitive base salary and annual performance bonus. Generous paid vacation, including a paid flexible day and volunteer days. Comprehensive health and dental coverage beginning on the first day of employment. Annual health and lifestyle spending account. Defined contribution pension plan with employer contributions. Retirement savings plan. Employee wellness initiatives and programs. Access to internal training, learning opportunities, and professional development support. A collaborative, people-oriented work environment that encourages innovation, safety, and customer service excellence. Opportunity to contribute to the growth of an international logistics network and develop expertise across integrated supply chain solutions. Remote work arrangement.
