Who We Are KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. Our award winning schools are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network, dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners and providing the social, emotional and academic support for success in high school, college, and life.

You Should Apply If
You love building lasting relationships with students, creating inspiring and engaging lessons, and growing as an educator and a teammate. Our math positions include traditional teaching assignments in 5th-7th grade and we also have upper math opportunities to teach subjects like Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in some cases. KIPP SoCal uses Eureka Squared math curriculum. Our specific math needs are as follows:
7GR Math;KPA (KIPP Philosophers Academy) 7GR Math; KSol (KIPP Sol Academy)
Anticipated Start Date: Mid-to-Late August
We are also offering up to $10K in signing bonus for experienced and credentialed teachers. These bonus are paid out in two installments throughout the year. Additional details available once your application is received.
Teach the knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for our students to achieve their goals, live their best lives, and positively impact the world
Value and draw upon students’ experiences and backgrounds
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students
Develop and administer a variety of assessments to measure students’ growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards
Analyze informal and formal student assessment results and use this information to drive and inform instruction
Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members
Implement classroom management techniques to create a nurturing and structured classroom environment and structure
Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct
Other duties as assigned by school administration
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
Valid preliminary or CLEAR teaching credential appropriate to role (Strong preference but not required)
Multiple years teaching experience in communities similar to the ones served by KIPP SoCal is strongly preferred
Working at an organization committed to the hard work necessary to ensure education is for liberation
Spending time with students and families in the best communities of LA, Compton, and San Diego
Support and care from fellow teachers, administrators, and regional team members
Ongoing professional development and coaching from a school site manager
Creation of an individualized credentialing plan with top-notch support from our dedicated Talent Team
