ABOUT THE ROLE Join the core product team at an early-stage AI software company, building agentic systems that automate complex workflows across regulated and enterprise domains. You will ship production AI services and full-stack features designed for reliability, safety, and measurable user impact. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and maintain agentic systems that automate multi-step workflows across healthcare, legal, fintech, logistics, and compliance.
- Own RAG pipelines and retrieval infrastructure, including vector databases, embeddings, and indexing.
- Implement multi-agent orchestration, tool-calling, memory, and reasoning capabilities.
- Develop evaluation, testing, safety, and monitoring systems to measure performance and catch regressions.
- Ship full-stack products by designing APIs and data models, writing frontend and backend code, and operating production systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, and company leadership to prioritize work and iterate based on user feedback and telemetry. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Two to eight years of software engineering experience delivering shipped user-facing or backend products, including professional AI engineering experience beyond academic research.
- Production experience deploying LLM services, including prompt design, orchestration, and tool integration.
- Proficiency with Python and TypeScript/React or equivalent, plus cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Working knowledge of RAG, vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
- Experience designing API-driven, high-throughput systems and real-time product features.
- Experience building automated tests, evaluations, and monitoring for production AI systems.
- Familiarity with agent or workflow frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI and orchestration tools such as Temporal or Trigger.
- Enterprise or multi-tenant systems experience, or experience in regulated industries, is valuable. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Annual salary: $150,000 to $180,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION On-site in San Francisco, California, United States.
