Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a MuleSoft Architect/Developer based in Canada. Take on a senior technical role designing and delivering scalable, secure integration solutions for a complex enterprise technology environment. As a MuleSoft Architect/Developer, you will combine architectural leadership with hands-on development to build and maintain APIs, integration flows, and enterprise service bus (ESB) solutions. You will shape API strategy, promote reusable integration assets, and ensure alignment between business requirements and technology roadmaps. Working across systems such as Java, Salesforce, .NET, Oracle, and Snowflake, you will help connect applications and optimize data exchange. You will also guide technical teams, oversee deployment practices, and resolve complex performance and production issues. This fully remote, 12-month contract is suited to an experienced MuleSoft specialist who thrives on technical problem-solving, secure architecture, and cross-functional collaboration.
As a MuleSoft Architect/Developer, you will lead integration architecture and development activities throughout the API lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to deployment, governance, and ongoing support. Design, develop, configure, test, document, deploy, and maintain MuleSoft APIs, integration applications, and service-layer solutions. Define and oversee platform architecture, deployment strategies, automation pipelines, and integration practices that support business and technology objectives. Develop secure, scalable RESTful and SOAP APIs using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Mule 4, DataWeave 2.0, and CloudHub. Design and manage API solutions using Anypoint Exchange, Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, Data Gateway, and Access Management. Establish API strategy, promote API reuse, and develop core system APIs, connectors, reusable code snippets, and shared integration assets. Build and maintain integrations across enterprise applications and technologies, including Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, Snowflake, and GoAnywhere. Design and implement synchronous and asynchronous messaging, streaming, flow routing, and file-based request/response processing. Provide architectural guidance on security, authentication, authorization, API governance, availability, confidentiality, and privacy controls. Review project backlogs, consumer requirements, solution designs, and implementation plans to guide platform strategy and technical enablement. Conduct technical analysis, produce architecture diagrams and flowcharts, and define procedures for existing and proposed applications. Troubleshoot complex integration defects, perform performance tuning and debugging, resolve production incidents, and deliver break/fix solutions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, agency technical teams, vendors, and systems integrators to resolve issues and deliver technical improvements. Review the work of other developers and vendors, provide technical recommendations, and mentor team members as needed. Support platform configuration, software installation, implementation documentation, and continuous improvement of existing integration solutions. Define and monitor non-functional requirements, including service-level agreements (SLAs), reliability, scalability, and performance across connected applications. Requirements: The ideal candidate brings extensive MuleSoft development and architecture experience, strong API engineering skills, and the ability to lead complex integration initiatives independently. You should be comfortable balancing technical design, hands-on programming, stakeholder collaboration, and operational support. At least 5 years of experience developing and testing web services, including RESTful and SOAP APIs, using MuleSoft or other programming technologies. At least 4 years of hands-on experience designing secure, scalable APIs with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform tools, including Anypoint Exchange, Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Anypoint Studio, Data Gateway, and Access Management. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with DataWeave 2.0 and developing Mule 4 applications in CloudHub. At least 2 years of practical experience using CloudHub and Anypoint Platform for enterprise service bus and deployment requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working in fast-paced, changing environments while managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and making sound technical decisions. Ability to gather and analyze technical requirements, design integration solutions, document architecture, and resolve complex implementation challenges. Strong understanding of API development best practices, software deployment lifecycles, testing methodologies, and secure integration design. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and distributed technical teams. Preferred Qualifications and Technical Expertise: Four or more years of experience with Database, File, and Sockets connectors; familiarity with Salesforce, Amazon S3, and Snowflake connectors is highly desirable. Experience designing advanced synchronous and asynchronous messaging, streaming, and flow-routing solutions. Knowledge of microservices architecture, MVC programming patterns, and SOLID design principles. Experience processing file- and stream-based requests and responses using formats and specifications such as JSON, XML, HTML, RAML, and WSDL. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, including relational schema design; familiarity with DynamoDB and Snowflake is an advantage. Experience leading technical requirements gathering and designing, building, and optimizing systems that support organizational processes. Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC, identity and access management, tokenization, and secure service-oriented architectures (SOA), including integration with Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) solutions. Experience designing enterprise integration patterns across Java, Salesforce, C# with .NET Core, Oracle, and GoAnywhere environments. Experience leading MuleSoft technical teams, coaching developers, and mentoring team members. Knowledge of non-functional requirements, service-level agreements, and performance optimization across services and consuming applications. Experience with data-focused transformation projects, including migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms. Direct experience building microservice APIs for Salesforce or Snowflake integrations. Current MuleSoft certification, such as MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect – Level 1, MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect, or an equivalent advanced certification. Experience managing the full API development lifecycle across multiple large-scale MuleSoft implementations. Experience working with or overseeing a MuleSoft Center for Enablement. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Data Processing, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Experience defining API governance standards, reusable integration patterns, and enterprise-wide technical best practices. Benefits: Fully remote work arrangement. 12-month contract engagement. Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale integration architecture and API development. Exposure to a broad technology ecosystem, including MuleSoft, Salesforce, Java, .NET, Oracle, and Snowflake. Opportunity to contribute to platform strategy, secure integrations, technical standards, and reusable enterprise solutions. Salary, healthcare coverage, paid leave, and other additional benefits were not specified in the original job description.
