OIST's Biological Design Unit is recruiting researchers for plant regenerative developmental biology, including plant cell factories, pathway engineering and protoplast regeneration.

The unit is considering postdoctoral researchers at multiple experience levels in plant cell and tissue culture, synthetic biology, plant developmental biology, biomaterials, stem-cell biology and metabolic engineering. OIST states expected annual salaries of JPY 4.6M–5.9M for Postdoctoral Scholars and JPY 5.0M–7.5M for Staff Scientists. Appointments are initially two years and may be renewed.

PhD in a relevant field; strong fit with the unit's interdisciplinary research, English communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international laboratory.
