Full Job Description

Deadline Date: 31 December 2026

The Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute (JBRJ) has launched two public calls for partnerships to support strategic projects and initiatives through collaboration with organizations, institutions, companies, and individuals.

The focus areas include cultural projects, scientific projects, environmental projects, educational projects, biodiversity conservation, preservation of historical and scientific heritage, democratization of access to culture and knowledge, exhibitions, educational activities, cultural events, museum projects, environmental education programs, restoration of historic buildings, infrastructure improvements, publications, science communication activities, maintenance and conservation of the arboretum, scientific research, technological development and innovation projects, human resource training to promote environmental education, science, technology and innovation communication initiatives, maintenance and restoration of JBRJ’s historic buildings, projects that promote the cultural and historical value of JBRJ’s tangible and intangible heritage, and the expansion of cultural activities offered to Botanical Garden visitors.

Public Call No. 2/2026 is intended for civil society organizations interested in developing cultural, scientific, environmental, and educational projects that can be financed through incentive laws and funding programs. The initiative aims to strengthen the Botanical Garden’s mission and expand its capacity to deliver projects for the public.

Eligible applicants are non-profit legal entities with experience in project development, management, and fundraising for cultural, environmental, historical, museum, and educational initiatives. Selected organizations will act as project proponents and will be responsible for technical planning, fundraising, project implementation, and financial reporting.

The call accepts proposals from the existing JBRJ project portfolio as well as new proposals that align with the institution’s objectives. Projects should contribute to biodiversity conservation, the preservation of historical and scientific heritage, and broader public access to culture and knowledge.

Funding opportunities under this call may be supported through federal, state, and municipal cultural incentive laws, along with public and private funding programs dedicated to research, the environment, and cultural heritage. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for one year and will be reviewed as they are received.

Public Call No. 1/2026 aims to expand the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden’s network of supporters by enabling individuals, companies, and institutions to contribute directly to strategic projects and activities through partnerships that do not involve the transfer of financial resources. These partnerships may include institutional recognition and brand association as counterparts.

Tips for this grant

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
